Buy Classic Tailoring Techniques for Menswear: A Construction Guide 3 by Roberto Cabrera, Denis Antoine (ISBN: 9781501372100) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: I own and have used Cabrera's Classical Tailoring, First and Second edition. If you want a thorough understanding of the construction of bespoke men's suits. This is the definitive book on the subject. It will walk you through the entire process from selecting a pattern, through production of each piece of a three piece suit. The illustrations are perfect, and useful for guiding you in the creation of a beautiful garment. About the third edition: If you are looking for new material in the third edition you are going to be disappointed. The text and illustrations are entirely taken from the second edition. While I have not taken the time to review word for word, It does not seem as if the main body of the text has changed at all. What was added? This is now set up as a textbook with learning objectives heading each chapter and within each chapter is a callout box labeled "tricks of the trade" These are mostly anecdotal and urge the reader to go beyond the main text. They may be useful for a beginning sewist, but for anyone with the experience to make proper use of Cabrera, they contain no great revelations. The third edition promises access to additional online materials. Despite using the access code provided, I have been unable to access them to review them. The publisher has moved these resources to a site directed at institutional rather than individual access. The online content may be brilliant, or may be a waste of time. I cannot tell you. Bottom Line, There is no better book to understand the construction of tailored garments, than Classical Tailoring Techniques for Menswear, a Construction Guide, second edition. It is a good thing the editors decided to reprint it in its entirety without changes for the third edition. Review: My son an fashion person likes it.

Black and white photos show specific details and are paired with illustrations. The text is well written and gives the reader clarity about the construction process. Tips and tools are especially helpful. Excellent resource!
