KastKing really stepped it up with this series of reels and I am beyond impressed. Firstly, the reel weight, the listing says 6.7 ounces but it truly feels lighter which will be beneficial for long fishing days. The brake adjustments and selection are really cool, the side cover stays attached when you open the door and allows 6 adjusments internally and 9 micro adjustments externally. Below the handle gear is a cool selector so you can move the arrow to what line type and lb test you have on your reel which is pretty handy when you have a half dozen poles or more and struggle to remember which is which. The reel is quiet, smooth, has slightly longer handles than typical for more torque - just a lot if small things that add up to a great value and a justifiable price point. I’ll be putting this reel through it’s paces this spring and will update the review if needed, but I highly doubt my opinion will change!

“No drag? …What do you mean no drag??” That’s the question I’ve heard from everyone who has seen this reel. They are incredibly skeptical about the claims and function… until they see it in action! The spool locks exactly how it describes, with no slipping in the toughest of circumstances. Additionally, this thing casts unlike any other reel I’ve seen… With a flick of the wrist the line goes and goes and goes. It’s almost unreal! The bearings in the reel are smooth, and this thing feels rock solid for only weighing 6.7 ounces. It’s sturdy, it’s reliable, and it lives up to its claims! As far as I’m concerned, that makes it a home run! KastKing is the real reel deal! Get your hands on one!

The ads about this would have you believe this is some kind of new revolutionary technology and it’s just simply a bait caster. You can get a decent one for 30 or 40 bucks. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this reel. it is well-built and performs fine but there’s nothing about it that would command the price that they are asking for it.

I am really impressed with this reel. The construction and materials are fantastic. It casts and reels incredibly smooth with braided line and an Ugly Stik casting rod. I think many of the negative comments on the settings and the drag are because of not understanding how to use it. The only negative for me is the price, everything else is great.
