Great value for a great product.
Great book on the history of beekeeping through various experts.. Even though historical, it provides a great resource for beginning and expert beekeepers.

Do not buy
Poorly photo copied, many pages are just blurry photos and text that cannot be read. Not a real book, for display purposes only because you can't read it.

A little over my had as a new beek
A huge amount of information all in one place. Great reading. With the weather not very conducive to starting nucs, I've plenty of time to read before I get my own bees.

The content is very reach and informative
If the text would be edited and the missing pictures inserted, the book would be priceless for the backyard as well as commercial beekeepers.

A copy but text is very small and hard to read
I was disappointed in the copy of the original book. I do have a beautiful vintage book of this and wanted a copy for a friend. I gave it to him but was not happy with the print. Very small and hard to read

Must Have Book for the Beekeepers' Library
This 700 page book is crammed with beekeeping information. It is very detailed in bees' anatomy and behaviour, complete with diagrams. Detailed explanations of how the bees process honey. Sections on how to deal with absolutely every aspect of beekeeping, all showing diagrams and drawings to reference how to do it (bees biology, brood, creating nucleus colonies, feeding, building hives, diseases, extracting honey, plants for bees, how to capture wild hives, recipes, etc., etc., etc).I've seen this book offered (published originally in 1947) by just about every major beekeeping supplier and its also highly recommended by beekeepers as well. You might need magnifying glasses to read the small print but this book is absolutely worth the investment. It's the most complete beekeeping book I've ever seen.

misled
Bought this believing it to be 2010 updated edition (as in 41st edition at least), turned out to be the 1947 reprinted in 2010, edition.Information about product very misleading. Noticed the ad has changed. Very disappointed with Amazon for this.Time to find a new supplier?

It might be a historically awesome book, but the font is smaller than a varroa mite
Not only is the font size 1 or smaller, it's clearly photocopied off a different version. They didn't increase the size of the photocopied page, so it sits well within the middle of each page. Seriously? Would it have been that much harder to do it properly? Other books get reprinted properly, so I'm not sure why this one wasnt. Its a TERRIBLE reprint. SOme of the photocopied pages are also poorly photocopied and reprinted so you can't read them even if you put reading glasses on. Lousy lousy lousy version and I'm so sad it wasn't better. I didn't return it because I kept thinking "I'll try reading it another time, I"ll try reading it another time", but nope, I'm not going to. It's brutal.
