FRYE Men's Dakota Mid Lace Boot

Con: These do run large. I ordered smaller based on reviews. Had I purchased my actual size, I'd be wearing clown shoes. I'm a comfortable 11-1/2 and I got size 11 and there's still a decent amount of room in the toe box to stretch my toes out. They are a slightly bit more narrow than I was expecting (maybe I got the 11-1/2 length and 11 width), but with a little breaking in, I'm confident they'll adjust to the width of my foot. Nothing here to drop down a star, however.Pro: These are comfortable. As expected with anything leather, they need some breaking in, but out of the box, I thought they felt good on my feet. They are built to last. I'm finally retiring my Dr. Martens I bought back in '97, which were like part of the family, but the quality and craftsmanship put into how well these were built, I'm guessing these will last just as long, if not longer. Sturdy leather, beefy stitching, bullet-proof sole...you can tell there's been some attention to detail put into the design and construction of these boots, right down to the metal cuffed flooglebinder on the shoestring. :). Looking forward to decades of comfort in these.

These boots are excellent! Perfect fit, true to size.Great craftsmanship for my first pair of Frye boots. I love the redwood color. The laces are durable, finished off with metal tips on the ends to prevent frays.The alternating stitching is a nice touch, with the light color of the stitch and the dark color of the boots.These boots look excellent with jeans, and slacks. I wear them with almost everything. Although i havnt tried them in a work environment, I can't see why they would not hold up in that environment. The leather is of nice quality and does not require any work, just put them on and wear them!!

Let me start by saying that these are some nice boots. You can see and feel the high quality build right out of the box. The support is excellent which is good for my high arches and even though they are regular width there is a little extra room in the toe box. The redwood color with darkened heel and toe looks good. My only complaint and the reason for four stars is the three week shipping time. Shelpers did recover by upgrading the order to 2day air which was truly appreciated, but even with that I waited three weeks. If your in the market for a very high quality work boot spend the cash for these.

Fantastic boot! High quality suede leather. Although a bit on the large side, it leaves great room for quality insoles or orthotics. Very soft and flexible leather right out of the box. Good rugged sole,,comfortably softer than others. Although chunky looking, this boot is very light in weight. All around cool looking style,,,and yes, these are the boots Tom Cruise wears in "Jack Reacher".UPDATE!- After a few outings in this boot, be advised,,,these boots will require a thorough break-in period,,,possibly an uncomfortable one,,,but bear with it, you'll be rewarded with a great pair of long lasting and (most importantly) rebuildable boots! Easily lasting a decade.I've added photos.

Awesome boot and quality. I usually wear a 10, but only 9.5 was available, so I tried it, and actually it fit more than comfortably, and I was even able to put in a thin padded insole, so I rated the boot as somewhat large FYI - great look, whenever I wear them, I get compliments. The boot is made in China, but Frye quality and craftsmanship is NOT diminished!

These boots were the perfect look and well designed, however they run about a size too long and are pretty narrow. I recommned buying down a size and avoid if you have a wider foot.

This is my first pair of Frye boots, and I have not been disappointed. After looking at several other brands (Danner, Chippewa, etc), I decided on these after trying them on first.The size is about a 1/2 size larger than advertised, but I usually insert insoles in all my boots which take up space. The quality of the boot is second to none and it shows in every part of the boot.It is a little heavy for all-day wear, but they are comfortable enough to do so.I really can't find a downside to the boot.

i recommend ordering a 1/2 size smaller that you usually wear in a dress shoe. i did that based on a recommendation and the boots fit perfectly. i read some negative reviews for this boot, but decided to take a chance when they were on sale. i really like them. quality is top notch.
