We had a larger Krupps for many years (so long we went thru about 4 replacements of the pricy 14 oz carafe). That Krupps finally died, so we bought this one. Works basically well. It is smaller, and doesn't take the No. 4 cones that the first Krupps did, and only has a 10 oz carafe. The smaller carafe is not a problem, as there are only the two of us, and my wife rarely has coffee in the AM. The basket is flat bottomed, so I should buy some Mr. Coffee-type filters, but so far I am just trimming off about an inch of the ubbleached No. 4 cones and making do, placing them in the basket, and it is working OK. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the button that determines the "boldness" of the coffee brew - pushing this button does nothing; however, it appears to be stuck on "bold", which works for me.Very easy to use: You either scoop coffee into the basket, or into a filer you place in the basket (I have placed the coffee directly into the basket, and it worked OK), add the appropriate amount of water (I just fill my coffee cup to the brim, then pout it into the reservoir), and hit the "On" button, and it brews the coffee pretty quickly. Pretty easy to clean, as well.

KRUPS 7211002967 EC321 Coffee Machine, 12-Cup I am pleased with my purchase. My coffee tastes so much better. All functions are working properly no issues with any part of the machine. It brews quickly. I have not used the water filter feature. I am using the same coffee that I was in the old machine so I was pleasantly surprised with the taste. I have noticed that the flavor isn't quite as good if I don't use the clean cycle when the clean light comes on & I ignored it for a few days. So very important to use the clean cycle when the light comes on. I use a regular paper coffee filter in the reusable filter that came with it only for easier clean up so I don't rinse any grounds down my drain, better for the septic system. The only thing I do not like about the machine is that it drips water on the counter if you open the lid all the way. It is a bit taller than most coffee makers & is a tight fit under the cubbard, we have to pull it right to the edge of the counter to put water & coffee in it.

The coffee maker uses either the supplied gold-tone filter OR a paper basket filter (I prefer the paper filter).The filter holder has a large tab on it and is VERY easy to remove. Nice!The coffee is good and I like everything about the machine so far.I've read in a couple of reviews that the glass carafe broke. The carafe does seem quite fragile, so I have been very careful not to stress it or bump it.I also read a review that said that their top warped ... perhaps if the top were partially open escaping steam could maybe do that? Anyway, I make sure that the top is completely closed when I set it up.No problems at all so far, but I have not had the machine for very long (received it on May 5th, 2020). I will try to come back in the future with an update.March 03, 2021: The coffee maker quit working. The electronic display seems to operate correctly and show everything that it should, but the water does not warm up and does not brew. I have contacted Krups and dropped my rating from 5 to 3. Depending on their response I will adjust my rating up again or further down. I did like the machine while it worked... I like it a lot less right now!March 24, 2021: I received a new replacement coffee maker from Krups today. Yay! I hope that this one lasts longer than the first one! I will adjust my rating up to 4. (Minus one for the inconvenience of having to return the malfunctioning coffee maker, and less confidence in its future longevity).November 15, 2021: The machine is going strong. I just wanted to say that I finally realized that pushing on the thumb rest part of the lid lifts the front of the lid just a little bit off of the carafe (even though it is not very noticeable) and really reduces the possibility of having coffee dribble all over the place! (If you don't push on the thumb rest coffee can be caught by the carafe lid diverting coffee to the outside of the carafe which then drips all over the place). I am very happy with the machine at this point in time.

This coffee maker is easy to use, has a keep warm plate, and lets you control how strong you want your coffee. The coffee tastes great. I'm really liking this machine.
