RetiCAM Windshield Mount with Ball Head - Suction Cup Car Mount for Cameras, Camcorders, GPS, ActionCam or Smartphone Adapters

Much better quality than the previous mount I had!

Upon first view it seems nice and well made, however the base/ suction cup area is not strong enough. The suction cup holds good enough but the base wiggles on it, causing the camera to bounce around. A shame really because it looked like a nice piece especially for the price.

This is the absolute best single suction cup mount I've been able to find. It's well-built, and rigid.To rotate the mount, you probably need to remove the thumb-screw and pry off the two pieces that hold the ball-stud. That took me a minute to figure out. You don't have to pop them off, but at least it doesn't feel like you're going to break it or wear it out when you do.This unit goes great with RetiCAM's other product, the Smartphone Tripod Mount. Put the two together, and you won't find a more solid single-cup windshield mount for your smartphone. (See attached photo.) To get any more stable, you'll need to go for a triple suction-cup mount.The swivel ball is held securely with the thumbscrew. I have mine setup so that the phone hangs straight down from the mount.

Does not stick to the windshield! Believe me I tried everything. Washed the windshield, washed the suction cup, warmed the cup up with hot water, nothing worked. One issue I have is the limited amount of movement, makes it quite bulky to use because there's only 1 point of movement as opposed to 2. The tension nut was a good touch, makes it easier to get the RetiCAM phone holder on and off. The suction cup seems to be too stiff for it's own good. It goes on tight when clamped and then just pops off like it was holding onto nothing. My Scosche cell phone holder works better, sadly.

If you're looking to secure anything with a 1/4-20 screw, then this is your product. Even after you have released the bracket that acts as the suction lock, this mount is so well made that it will hold. I have had it mounted to my windshield for long time lapse travel videos, and it has never once malfunctioned. In addition to how well the mount secured to anything smooth and nonporous, the ball head allows you to effortlessly position your device in the optimum position. I have this coupled with the RetiCAM® Smart phone Tripod Mounts, MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN! Rock solid, no issues with movement ever. Would I buy this again.... you can bet your bottom dollar I would!

The one I received had a stripped thread on the knob used for tightening. Instead of of sending it back to Amazon, I contacted the manufacturer directly. WOW! what awesome customer service!!!! "Hart" at Reti-cam apologized for the problem and sent me a replacement right away. The second one I received was perfect. It works great! I am using the Reti-cam XL tripod mount and this suction mount for my smartphone when traveling in the wife's car. I can also see me using this for a quick mount in a rental when traveling. It's small enough that I can throw it in a pocket of my backpack to take with me. "Hart @ Reti-cam" if you read this, thanks again!

Not the quality level I've come to expect of other RetiCAM products. I couldn't see it lasting long term so I returned it. Other RetiCAM products I've purchased have been precision designed and machined. This was cheaply manufactured Chinese junk.

I'm usually not one to take the plunge and buy something that hasn't been reviewed a ton of times before, but I took a chance with this one. This thing is awesome. It's very difficult (which is GOOD) to clamp the cup against the window, due to there being such an INSANE amount of suction going on. I had an issue with the suction cup losing it's grip overtime, but RetiCAM quickly fixed my issue. Great product with great customer service to match. BUY THIS THING! You'll appreciate the build quality of the metal when you hold it in your hands.
