Switched to these from Esbit fuel tabs
I’m a long distance hiker and avid off grid camper, camping at least one week each month. I teach survival/bushcraft skills to groups often. I’ve usually only used the Esbit tabs and they’re great-but pricey and they usually burn 8-10 minutes max. Two weeks on the Appalachian trail would need over 100$ in fuel tabs for the Esbit brand. When I saw these I decided to try them as the reviews were good ( don’t worry about the smell ALL fuel tablets have that odor-it’s not noticeable outdoors) and I needed a lot to teach a young group how to cook on trail/off grid. Boy did they surprise me ! First of all they’re much bigger than the typical 14gram tabs and they burn well-if you block the wind they make a perfect flame (see photo). They burn hot!!! My chicken was boiling within 7/8 minutes and I didn’t need a second tablet to add the dumplings! Nice two servings of fresh chicken and dumplings in about 15 minutes! I love that they’re individually wrapped and the tear package is much easier to open than the foil/plastic molded ones. Some of mine were a bit broken so I put a little foil on the bottom of my folding stove (backpacking stove) so the pieces wouldn’t fall through the holes and they burned fine making one nice flame. I’m officially changing my preferred fuel tabs to this brand. If you’ve been using the little tabs and burning through them to make food, you’ll love these! Also-if you just need half to make water for a cup of tea or coffee they break in half fairly easily and the heat is the same but it shortens the burn time so you don’t waste them. Excellent product!!

Burns well great stuff
Tried out these fuel tabs, it burns well. Expect that these do have a faint smell when burning; assuming you would buy these for outdoors for camping or hiking. I would suggest using in ventilated area if you're one of those that would light it in your house then complain of the odor. I purchased these for one of those little portable pocket type stoves to boil a cup of water for our over coffee when camping and hiking. Lasts long enough to boil a couple cups. I like that it's portable and individually wrapped so that I can keep it my vehicle. Also could use as a small pit firestarter. Customer service was very responsive. A++

Poor packaging but work well
These tablets have the characteristic smell of all hexamine fuel tabs. In my Esbit stove it burned for 16 minutes with minimum soot on the bottom of the pot. using one tab to melt wax for homemade fire starters the performance was satisfactory.I gave four stars because the tablets are simply thrown in a box and, while they still used, a few tabs were broken.

Burns 15+ minutes and no fumes.
Nothing to dislike. The fuel tablets light easily and don't reek. Lite weight and you save weight as tablets are only 14.4 grams with the wrapper. Perfect for making tea, coffee, ramen or Knorr sides. Burns down to a very small pile of soot.

Works Great
Tested them at home first and they will work great for backpacking. They are light weight and burn long enough to heat ramen noodles on the trail. The only thing is they smell terrible! Definitely for outside use only. Also going to keep them in a ziploc bag for storage.

Just ok, some broken
Ordered 30, received 33 in a generic box with no labeling. 7 were split in half or broken into pieces. Tested boil times with 1.5 cups of water since that's what most backpacking meals require. 1 tab boiled 1.5 cups in 5:50 and it actually stopped boiling it around 6:30. 2 tabs boiled 1.5 cups in 4:25 but only continued to burn until 8 minutes. They smell kind of like burning plastic and take about 15 seconds of a lighter flame to light.
