Doesn't seem safe....
I bought these because I thought it was a good deal (you got 2 devices for the price of one compared to other well-known name brands sold on this site) but a better deal does not mean good quality. My first clue should have been the fact that the brand name on the device is printed upside-down compared to the direction of the plug itself. The instructions that come in the package have misspellings and poor grammar (which does not lead me to believe that this product is safe or even inspected). I downloaded the app and tried to connect over and over again, but ran into constant connection problems (and there is nothing wrong with the Wifi connection in my house). At one point, after "long pressing" the button on the device (as stated by the directions), instead of the light flashing blue in its entirety as it did on previous tries, half of the light flashed blue while the other half lit up red (but was not flashing)! Then it started flickering on and off (as if there was a short) before going out completely. If I nudged the device while it was still plugged in, the light would flicker on, before shorting out again. So I removed the plug at that point and packed it for a return. There's no way I'm going to keep a plug in the wall with a light flickering and malfunctioning - this has fire hazard written all over it! Don't get sucked into the good price, invest in a more expensive brand by a company that's reputable.

Seriously, only for patient geeks
Directions are in 1 point type. But say you find the app anyway. It just never works. Linking the skill to Amazon Echo also fails, although a Chinese website will collect every password and log in you provide. Update: I coaxed this to work but I'm a geek; not a gift item for sure. Plus in the unit. Get the Jinvoo app. Set up an account with Jinvoo. Activate device. When it reports network or renaming errors restart the app. After it stops flaking out then go to Alexa to enable the Jinvoo skill. Then scan for devices. After all that, if the device can see the network or functions. If it cannot, then move it closer to the wireless base use it then move it back.

Awesome, Easy Setup and multiple applications and uses.
These smart plugs are awesome! I have patio lights in my back yard that consist of three separate extension cord plugins. I bought a 3port adapter to connect all three cords to this unit and now Alexa turns on my lights for me! No more back and forth plugging this in. One of the best parts about this plug is the timer capability. The app allows you to set timers so the lights go on automatically and eliminates the need to ever have to turn them on. The set up was super easy, just a matter of downloading the app, connecting to you WiFi network and the app does the rest...about 5minutes to complete. Highly recommend! We plan to use these for Christmas lights once the season get here:)

So they are pretty much useless
So of course I just got around to installing these today. (5 days after my return window closed, I found out once I realized they don't work) I plugged them in, downloaded yet another app, etc. I can get it to turn on or off BUT after a few minutes when I go into my app it shows my socket is off and it's very clearly still on. I bought this to use with my scentsy plug in because I keep forgetting to turn it off but I can't trust it since the App keeps showing it's off when it's clearly on. So they are pretty much useless. Not happy and was hoping to be able to return. :/

HOW DO I MAKE A CLAIM FOR THE WARRANTY?
EDIT 1/5/18: These claim to have a year warranty, but I can't seem to find where to claim a replacement. One of them just gave out and I can't get it to go into discovery mode. Meaning I can't connect it to my network.They work with Alexa/Google and they're cheap. Win/WinThese are a little on the big side, and they aren't too visually appealing.But for my installation they're hidden behind something so that wasn't much of an issue.They're cheap, and they work with Alexa. What more could you ask for.

Save your money
These items are not worth the money. They constantly lose contact with the server and must be reset to operate.The interface with additional instructions is in Chinese....boy that's helpful if you speak and read Cantonese. I missed the return windwo and am stuck with four worthless plugs. I took them all out and replaced them with TP-Link controls. They work without any problem.

Very easy to set up
These little things worked flawlessly. Very easy to set up. Alexa turned them on a few seconds before saying "OK". The phone app works very well. I turned the entrance light form my office, 30 miles away from home.I'm very satisfied with them!

These are not well made. The extensive 5 star reviews are clearly paid for. The app associated with this product is terrible. Confirmation codes have not been sending to my phone so I can not register the product.
