Square Pot, 8 gal, Black

Just what I ordered and needed. Good material, firm and strong enough to support a big plant. The only thing I would suggest is to leave the bottom opening closed so we can open only the ones needed. All my holes are opened and I will have to fill the bottom with some stones so the water doesn’t completely drains.

The basic design of these pots is nice and attractive. I was worried that they wouldn't have drainage holes (forgot to check the reviews for photos before ordering, D'OH!) but was pleased to find that they have ample drainage. It would have been nice if they were made with thicker plastic, but they were fine for my purposes. I can see if someone expecting a rugged pot for rough service would not be happy, but for a nice decorative (or at least inoffensive) pot to just sit out on the patio, they're fine.That said, they are not well made. The surface finish and patterns are nice, but they have plainly visible signs of poor injection molding; specifically, lots of flashing. The flashing around the drainage holes is poor quality, but it really won't affect the performance of the pot. The flashing around the top rim of these pots is, however, easily visible and just looks shoddy. Of course, it's easy to trim this away with a simple razor blade, but one really shouldn't have to do this.I placed an initial order for one of these pots to see if it would work for me. That pot just showed up on my doorstep with nothing but a shipping label on it. Happily, it did not get scratched or damaged during shipping, and it was a nice enough pot that I ordered five more. Those five arrived on my doorstep in a stack that had been wrapped with some clear plastic banding. Four of those five pots were damaged. My theory is that the stacked weight of the five posts contributed to their damage during rough handling during shipping. If I had to do it again, I'd place five orders of one pot instead of one order of five. Also, the shipping seemed on the slow side, taking 10 days from the Los Angeles area to the Seattle area.

I needed a tall and room insert to fit into my planter and these worked great. The material isn’t flimsy and there was no odor detectable. Overall,mit was a great buy.
