De CeccoPasta, Potato Gnocchi, 1.09 Pound (Pack of 1)

This is a perfect product and a perfect amount. I love these gnocchi. They cook perfect and maintain their consistency. They don't get mushy and fall apart like other brands. All De Cecco pastas are the best. A+ product.

These taste so good, boiled, tossed in a lightly oiled skillet (they get crispy!), simmered in sauce. Anyway you make them, they are great!

This is the first gnocchi I have had. I bought four packages . It becomes gummy if you have some packages for a while

These gnocchi are good. The texture is right, a nice balance of springy and fluffy. (Watch them continuously while they're cooking. They cook very quickly and can be overcooked easily.) But of the three packages I've cooked so far, all had a very slight sour taste. They weren't spoiled in any way, just had a slightly tangy flavor that I don't associate with gnocchi. It's not noticeable with a red sauce but is with a lighter flavored sauce. I don't know if this taste is typical of the brand. I probably won't re-order these because I like dried pasta for tomato sauces, but they are definitely worth trying.

To be honest, I didn't know what to expect from this product. I have never purchased Gnocchi before and have never even eaten it, but I wanted to try a recipe for Creamy Garlic Chicken with Gnocchi and Spinach. I found this De Cecco Potato Gnocchi on Amazon and was surprised that it's a shelf-safe product (no refrigeration necessary, which is a plus). The recipe called for pre-cooked Gnocchi which is added to the rest of the ingredients along with the spinach toward the end, so I followed the instructions and it was so easy to prepare. It cooks quickly (5-6 minutes) and the 1 lb. package made a LOT. With the 1.5 lbs of chicken I ended up with a huge amount of food for three people, so I was hoping everyone would like this new dish. They did. Like myself, my brother and sister-in-law had never had Gnocchi either and they loved those "potato dumplings" and the creamy garlic recipe. It was very filling and we had a lot of leftovers which we all ate for lunch for a couple of days. I don't know if $7.95 is a good price for this product or not, but it was well worth it for me. I'm now sold on Gnocchi and will definitely be buying more. I'll have to find some more recipes to experiment with, but my family said the Creamy Garlic Chicken and Gnocchi was a "keeper," so I'll at least be making that again sometime.

A marvelous addition to any home chef's larder! Very easy to prepare and shelf stable which means storing in your pantry instead of refrigerator. Also very versatile as it can be prepared a number of ways: Traditional is a quick boil in salted water then dressed in whatever sauce when served OR try this: Sautéed in a combo of olive oil and butter until browned then build the sauce right in the same pan and serve while still hot and crispy. Imagine all the different sauces!! SO GOOD and De Cecco's Gnocchi really stands up to this approach so very well yielding crispy, chewy exteriors and pillowy soft interiors.

They have a play dough like smell to them. And one package I got was wet and bloated. So eh.
