Although we cannot know what truly transpired between Mary & Joseph at the beginning of their life together, this book brings to life a beautiful and quite believable story. I’ve read it several times at Christmas over the years. It never has failed to bring me closer to the glory of His birth.

I enjoy reading this beautiful love story of Mary & Joseph each year. Marjorie Holmes puts it on a human level, full of the emotions of real people. The Bible focuses on a few key players but in reality, the birth of Jesus Christ affected the lives of so many others and each person's reaction and revelation of the Saviour was different. A timeless classic for December reading to prepare your heart for the true meaning of Christmas.

A beautiful recounting of the love between Mary and Joseph, and the birth of baby Jesus.This book starts with Mary and Joseph before their betrothal, and introduces family on both sides. We see their love and their courtship, along with both the blessings and trials they endured when Mary's pregnancy becomes apparent. True to Biblical accounts, and written with an overflowing of love, this joyous and moving tale is a beautiful blessing and heartfelt reminder of God's extraordinary love for the world.

Would have been a five were it not for the ridiculous descriptions of Joseph's lusty longings and the pitiful portrayal of two of Jesus' grandparents. Nevertheless, an enjoyable read for the Christmas season about the time leading up to His birth.

I bought this book 30 years ago to read to my kids on several Christmas times. We were always making a 14-hour drive to Grandma's house and the whole family was mesmerized by the story as I read. There was never a more realistic, touching, uplifting, and heartfelt Christmas story than this one! A CLASSIC! The original book got lost over the years, and now I have an almost new volume to read to the grandkids when they come over to do Christmas crafts. One of the eternally BEST Christmas activities EVER!

Two From Galilee beautifully represents the lives of Mary and Joseph. Their willingness to submit to God’s plan, and the sacrifices they make to do so, are very thought-provoking. This story brings their personalities to life in ways I never before considered.

Although many of the details in this book were added and inspired by the author, the story of Mary and Joseph is true according to the Bible. It gives us an insight into the life and culture of the times in history!

I had never heard of this book until the church I'm checking out included it as Christmas-time reading/discussion. I'm generally very skeptical going into books/media about the lives of people in the Bible. In this instance, I think the author has been faithful to the principles in God's Word. Mary is presented as faithful, yet still a fallible human. Two From Galilee really helped me see their lives far more 3-dimensionally than I'm naturally inclined to do. I'm planning to recommend this to my friends!

I choose the rating, because the book touched me deeply.I recommend this book to anyone seeking comfort and hope, regardless of your maturity.I will make it "my Christmas reading" for next year again

Lost my original copy of this book and although the ones sent has been well read it wa so nice to be able to read again. Makes real the story of Joseph and Mary, If you are religious you will love it too. If you are not it will make you realise these were real people with real thoughts and feelings like us all.
