I think these are lovely. Others mentioned rough edges. Both of mine are smooth and lovely. They feel good in the hand, are large enough to have presence. You cannot close you hand entirely around them, but not so big you couldn't carry in a pocket or handbag, and are a great connection during prayer or personal reflection. I find having a tangible item very calming. These would make a great gift for anyone with a religious heart.

I had previously purchased a "Holding Cross" branded hand held cross from the company out of Texas. For various reasons I was unable to purchase from the same company this time and thus sought out an alternative. These crosses don't fit quite as comfortably in the hand as my previous purchase, but they do fit in your hand. The wood is smooth and otherwise adequately finished. They shipped in a polyethylene shipping bag without any bubble wrap or protection. The first set arrived with one of the crosses broken in half. The company sent a replacement with no issues or delays. If I were to purchase another holding cross I think I would still opt for the "Holding Cross" branded rather than these. but these are certainly still my second choice.

They are lovely but they do have a shiny clear coat of varnish on them. I prefer the smooth bare olive wood feel of the ones I've had in the past.
