Hi-Lite Essentials 12V 1 AMP Power Adapter for D-Link DIR-615 Router (1 Yr Warranty)

My broadband ONU 12V, 1A adaptor (along with many other valuable things) stopped working due to high voltage fluctuation in my house because of neutral failure and phase combination at the DB attached to the feeder line. This happened because of electricity department fault.So I was looking for a replacement adaptor at reasonable price. I found Hi-Lite 12V, 1A at reasonable price and it was sold by fulfilled seller. So I purchased it at 289/-. When I got it I was excited to plug it in and it did not work. I was surprised. Shook it vigorously, and it started working.So I became sceptical about the quality of the product. I opened it and found it's a refurbished product. I was shocked to discover that it was used for some other device in past and probably when the device failed it was trashed. The trashed item was picked up and some input, output wires were re-attached and old wires were cut off. Bits of old wires are still attached with silicone glue. New wires were attached like some blob of soldering material were used to without any flux. One of the capacitors is bulging.The LED indicator (which was originally not present, later added by the Hi-lite company) resistor is most likely underrated and for that reason only using it for a day the insulating glass fibre sleeve is burnt. It's black.I have marked these faults with red circles. Check them.At present the adaptor is working and for that reason I have given it 3 stars. I will update when this fails.I do not recommend this adaptor. Because its old used item fitted inside a new plastic box and most its life is already spent.Update: The adapter stopped working finally. I got it on 30th June. Put it into work on same day and it died on 14th July. That's the quality of the adapter. I reduced the rating to 1 star. Never buy Hi-lite power adapter. Total wastage of hard earned money.
