Excellent Madrid Travel Book
The book comes packaged in standard Amazon packaging - the book was bent on the back when received for review. The book is well bound and has an attractive Madrid City landscape shot on the front cover. It is a lovely book full of lots of interesting pictures of cultural and entertainment sites around the city. It gives useful pre-written plans for 1, 3, 5 days in the city. It is a well written in that it looks at Madrid for people that like photography, food, films, culture by having specific sections on these areas. The museum section including the Prada are covered well. It gives opening days and times of buildings which is very useful when planning a day out.It covers the history well without being too boring. The book has lots of useful maps of the different parts of Madrid, to make it easy to find your way around. There is a very useful Metro Map inside the back cover and a pull out laminated map of Madrid at the back of the book. One of the sections covers walks around parts of the city, which I particularly liked being a walker. It does go further afield from Madrid and gives examples of days out from there. This is really nice book, another DK well published travel guide. It fits in a backpack or bag easily as it is a narrow book to carry around. I really recommend it.I hope you find my review useful. Thanks

Good book for walking routes
Loved this book for walking routes. I good for restaurants though. Not Outdated but exclusive. No cheap places of which there ante loads. A bit stuff if I’m honest but the walking tours are epic and worth it just for that

Excellent travel guide for Madrid
I've been to Madrid a couple of times, and so used this guide as a bit of a reminiscing journey, and to see if it is good at what is designed for, and that is to help you plan a trip to the city.In all respects, this is a great guide. The maps are excellent, and provide great detail for what you need. There are plenty of suggestions about what to do, and how to do it and over how many days you need. This book is truly like having a tour guide in book form.If you're visiting Madrid and want a small but very handy travel guide, then this is fantastic. Sure, you can get a larger one for reading in your hotel room or on the flight, but this is the guide that you'll want to carry around as it has everything in it to help you have a great time.

Great for planning a visit or carrying around whilst there
Although we have visited Spain a number of times, to date we have not yet visited Madrid. Having a guidebook that gives a selection of itineraries (depending on one’s length of stay is a big bonus. It not only covers history, places to visit, opening timings, accommodation, restaurants and the like but also some of the surrounding areas (There is a larger DK book covering the whole of Spain but this book (223 pages) gives more detail on this Capital city. It is also well served with maps (both pull out and in the text) and photographs. Excellent background for planning a visit Recommended. (Will update after we have visited in a few months time.)

Brilliant guide book
I absolutely love these books. Bright, clear, informative- just everything you want in a guide book. Loads of maps, historical bits and recommendations on where to eat and drink. Madrid is a big bustling city (the book covers it by district) and this perfectly covers the obvious tourist areas but also shares some great secrets and tips.Great book and great series.

Brilliant for the Price - Recommended
We have a smaller top 10 guide for Madrid from DK.EW series but this one is a lot more comprehensive as with all books, maps and guides I've ever had from DK Eyewitness series this is really well laid out, packed with lots of useful information and ideas as well as just maps and quick references. The quality of these are brilliant for the price and they pack a lot in despite being compact so 100% happy with it and would recommend fully!

Very decent city guide, can't go wrong!
Attractive DK city guide to Madrid. Lots of photos and some attractive maps. Not too big, fits in a largish jacket pocket so practical.Lot of background info on Spanish history etc. that you can dip into and comfortably read over a couple of days.Features nice double-page sections on Madrid for booklovers/film lovers/architecture fans etc. Helps you impose some order on the infinite attractions of Madrid. Useful info on trips outside the city to Escorial, Segovia etc.Includes a robust fold out map but not so handy to use. Plus does anyone use such a map anymore? Avoid the hipstery "snag a table at the iconic gastro market and dance til dawn" cobblers of the 3/4/5 day itineraries if you're a miserable old git like me.Overall, very useful for a short trip!
