The KAZOO Venus 1 person tent - Better than a Hubba Hubba 1 person tent?
Ok, I JUST received my KAZOO Venus 1 person tent, set it up in the yard for inspection, and I can already tell that this was a prudent purchase.I am just getting into backpacking and I had my eye on another tent (MSR Hubba Hubba 1) until I came across this tent. Seeing as how I'm a newb, I really didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on something for an activity that may not be for me, so after reading up on the materials, the weight, the features, and all of the reviews (here and elsewhere), I decided to pull the trigger on this tent.PROS:1) It only weighs 3.5 pounds (on my bathroom scale) with EVERYTHING - inner tent, rainfly, stakes, pole, and all the individual stuffsacks. That's pretty light. If you leave the individual sacks at home, you can shave off a little more weight. Maybe not as light as the other tent I was looking at, but this is 1/5 the price.2) It's polyester instead of nylon - This may not be a pro for some, but for me it is. Polyester is hydrophobic, (repels moisture) whereas nylon is hydrophilic (absorbs moisture). When nylon gets wet, it will often sag/stretch as it absorbs moisture. Polyester won't really do that. Nylon IS lighter and the inherent stretchiness will keep it from tearing as easily, but I'm willing to bet this tent will be fine, seeing as the fly is made from 210T Ripstop polyester and the tub is made from 150D Oxford polyester.3) It is VERY quick and easy to set up. The design is intuitive and I doubt most people would even need to read the instructions. I had it pulled out and set up in less than 5 minutes, and that was in a good breeze without staking it down first.4) Inner mesh will keep out all the noseeums, and if the weather doesn't necessitate the use of the rainfly, skip it and you'll be able to see all the stars.5) Rainfly has two vents and a zipper flap with velcro. It's also easy to adjust it very low to the ground to minimize any rain splatter or let it sit higher for more ventilation.6) Neon-colored reflective guy lines will keep you from tripping over them in the dark.7) Every seam seems to be well-stitched and taped.CONS:1) It seems just a tad short in length. I'm just over 5'8" and while I DO have a little extra space at my head and feet, while lying down, without any kind of pad under me, the tips of my toes touch the inner mesh. It's not completely terrible but 3 more inches in length would have been nicer without adding much weight/cost.2) It doesn't come with a footprint - Kind of a bummer but still a good bargain.3) The vestibule is not very big. I have a TETON Hiker 60L pack and the vestibule looks like it will probably JUST fit. I doubt there will be any room inside once I have my sleeping pad, quilt, etc. in there, but we'll see.FINAL THOUGHTS:All in all, this seems to be a great tent that will most likely punch above its price. It appears to be very well made, it's pretty lightweight, seems roomy enough as long as you're not much taller than, say, 5'10", and it has a waterproof rating of 3000mm, which seems fine, but I may give it a good spray with some Nikwax for insurance.Once I get it out on the trails, I'll report back with updates.EDIT - 9/2/23 - I've used this tent several times now and can confidently say that it now carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval. The last outing was up above 12,500 feet and this little tent did just fine. In fact, it was actually 2° warmer inside the tent than the outside temperature. So far, I've only experienced one moderate rainfall in it, and it was dry as a bone inside. With cooler weather there will definitely be a little condensation on the inside of the rainfly, but so far, it has been minimal. The vestibule does just barely fit my pack under it, but on the last outing, I decided to see if it would fit inside. With my height, I was able to stash it down at my feet with no problem. There's not much room inside, but plenty for sleeping and it hasn't felt cramped, which I was a little worried about.

Scout approved!
This is a review of the Kazoo brand - tent model: Neptune 4P. Got this tent because my son’s favorite color is yellow and he’s active in Boy Scouts. It took about 15 minutes to put it together by reading the instructions. (I think the next time we put it together, we could do it in less time.) They were well written and easy to understand. This tent came with a plastic mallet and 18 stakes. The “bathtub design” floor goes up higher than most tents I’ve used. The sleeves for the poles are continuous across the whole tent which is very helpful when setting up. Also, the sleeves and poles are color coded which is a tremendous help. I love that the rain fly goes almost all the way to the ground. The tent has two doors and two entry vestibules, which are very large. Overall, the tent is spacious and has lots of tie downs and it would be great in rain or high wind. Top vents on two sides can open with a plastic stand that attaches to velcro to allow for air flow. I’m confused about the red poles going to the sides because they are elevated/don’t go all the way to the ground - should it be that way? I’ve never seen a tent like that. There’s a hole for an extension cord, which is a bonus! Without the rain fly on, there is tons of mesh ventilation so in Texas summer heat, this would be great. However, when the rain fly is on, two of the side vents are blocked, reducing air flow significantly. I wish there was a way to prop these two side vents open similar to the vents on the top of the fly. The tag says it’s a three-season tent but because of the rain fly going almost all the way to the bottom, I would use this in a Texas mild winter. Overall, it was a good value for the money and would recommend others to purchase.

Light/good design
I already had a tent for two people But I’m not that satisfied with it’s weight , this summer we have more chance to go out for camping as a family, but I don’t want a family size tent, because I want it can be used for my future backpacking trip instead of the old one , so I am looking for a another lightweight-backpacking tent for 2,then I am glad I found this. Now in the family camping Girls use this one , while the old one belongs to the boys . Everyone agree it’s the best arrangement:)I love the design and color of the KAZOO tent, the two porches design is very unique and useful, which is the most important point I bought KAZOO Venus tent. This backpacking tent is exceeding my expectation, it’s a use friendly tent; the 3 Aluminum poles provide a stable and light frame, the package is small enough to put in my backpack, easy to setup and breakdown, one person can do it.We have one night raining last 3 hours, and it keeps us dry inside, the ceiling vents also provide good airflow.Overall, it’s a well-designed lightweight tent with an affordable price.

So far REALLY GOOD!
I just got my tent today for "solo senior camping". (My husband doesn't want to go anymore and we sold our trailer)I set the tent up in our living room tonight by myself in about 1/2 hour. If I had been outdoors it would have been easier as I was working around the TV, sofa and woodstove! Things I love already: the color coded poles that match the color coded sleeves on the tent make it foolproof...Instructions are sewn into the carry bag so they won't get lost....zippers are really smooth...ventilation seems well thought out...obviously it's not raining in the living room, but the well thoughtout features to keep rain out of the front opening of the rainfly make me confident I will stay dry (velcro closures, elastic sewn into the top of the door to insure a tight closure and a nice 2" fabric overlapping the zipper to keep the rain out)All the stakes are here and the guylines are attached already and waiting to be staked. A heavy plastic mallet is included, but I'm thinking a hammer will work better. The carrying case is compact, a little heavy but will work well for car camping. I'll update this review after a test run in the outdoors, but for now it looks great in my living room!

Durable, Reasonably-priced Backpacking Tent for Me and My Dog
My backpacking style requires small, lightweight, stand-alone tents. I had been using a Eureka Solitaire bivvy for years, but it got stretched out so that the waterproof shell touched the inner mesh lining, and whenever it rained water would leak in. I also got a puppy this year and decided I'd need something slightly larger. And I didn't want to spend too much money in case my puppy ruined it during his training stage....So far, this tent is exactly what I needed. There's room for me, my 70 lb puppy-dog, and my backpacking gear. When he's soaking wet or muddy, I can put him under the little awning. He likes to lean up against the "walls"--a bad habit we're working on--but the seams are holding tight. During one heavy thunderstorm, rain was coming down so hard that miniscule bits of water were popping through--not enough to get anything wet, just enough that it was noticeable; but I've never had a tent that did not do that in such a torrential downpour. During that same storm, we were camping on rock and could not tie the tent down. I used rocks to weigh the guylines down, but the wind was flap-flap-flapping the tent so much that the rocks moved. The following morning, I was relieved to find the tent NOT ripped, and the waterproof "bathtub" working well. My dry rock had turned into a little pond. It felt like a waterbed, and everything inside stayed dry. On a different rainy day, in a place I was able to tie it down properly, zero rain came through (not even miniscule bits), the outer shell did not touch the mesh lining, and it was quite peaceful to lay inside and watch the rain roll down my cheery, yellow shelter.I love that the door zipper is contrasty red and u-shaped--makes it easy to open.I love that it comes with reflective, neon guylines so that I don't have to buy them separately. Even the tent stakes have little reflective, neon loops--a nice touch.I love that I don't have to roll it up impossibly tight to fit it back into the darn bag.I love that it's made from recycled materials. My only real complaint is that it takes a little more time to set up because the outer shell is not attached to the inner mesh. The Eureka Solitaire spoiled me that way. It's still super easy to set up, though.Overall, I highly recommend.
