True (New Species Book 11)

True and Jeanie, both new characters. True did appear in Moon's story. Nice to see some old characters return, esp Flame and some more hints about Amanda. Wondering is there going to be a follow up there? Not so much humour in this book but some good background. Liked some of The newer characters ; Luna and Query. I understand that Tim has to be fairly hard headed and suspicious of all new comers but he can be a bit of an unlikable one. This book fell at the end but I enjoyed the Mahmoud the story an looking forward to the next book

Come on, if you have read all the previous books in this series, then you know you are going to love this one. Cant wait to read the next one ( Darkness ) and the others after it. I love this series so much, i have them all in audio too. Audio is the best way for you to continue with your books when you are too busy around the house or even traveling. But i also love to sit and read in bed before going to sleep.

I have to say that Laurann has done it again. Well written, beautifully crafted characters, twists in the plot that (if you have followed this series) you're looking for but not always in the place that you expect or what you are looking for either - a good surprise never hurt anyone !!!!Things did get a little wobbly in this series a few books ago and , depending on what you are looking for in a series such as ' New Species ', the negative comments that a couple of releases got were either totally justified OR a complete load of rubbish !!!!! The one thing that really worried me was that this wonderful slightly futuristic world had only just started to scratch the surface of how bigoted & evil some people/organisations are in the real world of the here & now. This author has cleverly mirrored our own human prejudice , shortfalls & allsorts of other nasty things that go on all around us. Things that some could not believe another human could twistedly allow to happen, initiate, or frankly even comprehend at all.History shows us just what evil creatures can become from a damaged human mind - & what's more we keep doing the same things , the same way from millennia to millennia, century after century, year after year ( & mostly for the same reasons, even if those reasons are not unearthed for years & years after the fact ) !!I feel privileged to have found an author that recognises the reality of our lives today & has so masterfully managed to cloak the truth into fiction that makes things far more acceptable to the majority. With the above in mind, try to read the series with a different outlook, read with the vision of today's atrocities, a new understanding of some of our own 'Species' & I hope that the ingenuity of authors like Laurann Dohner - & others like her - will receive the TRUE recognition that they deserve .By the way, after my own enlightenment just let me say that this book is a fabulous story, one to read again & again - & yet again shows just how much a woman in a partnership/marriage used to be loved, cherished & her protection was usually the most important thing in an honourable partner/husbands life.I often wonder if the yoke had been a little more forgiving toward the women that came before, us just how the structure of our world could or would be in these modern time! I like being treated like a lady. If the truth be told, I think that most of us do & that's why Romance Stories - even the spiced up ones ( or do I mean especially the spice up ones!) - will live HEA !!!

Jeanie is a phlebotomist and finds her self working with New Species. She is horrified when she finds out what is going. Jeanie tries to get help by contacting the NSO website. A man contacts her for more information and asks her to get evidence. It turns out he is using her to make money from the NSO.When the task force turn up they believe Jeanie is involved and treat her badly. New species remember her and how kind she was to them and they help protect her.True remembers her kindness and is told she did it to betray them.but True and Jeanie end up falling in love.I'm gutted this is the last in the series.......for now. I believe Laurann Dohner is writing more!!

I really loved this story even though it's not my favourite of series, true and jeanie are great as the main characters they are fully formed and 3 dimensional. The story has a decent plot and just enough love scenes to keep you wanting more.It was nice to hear about darkness aswell and i looked on LD's website and it looks like darkness will be the next installment to the new species series and I for one cant wait, after 11 books the series is still going strong and can only get better.
