DESPITE WHAT LISTING SAYS IS FOR 1911 GOVERNMENT MODEL NOT COMMANDER
DO NOT ORDER THIS HOLSTER IF YOU EXPECT TO GET A HOLSTER FOR A COMMANDER SIZED FIREARM. I have had 3 failures to correctly fill this order (the original order and two replacements). Each time I have received a holster marked ".45 Govt." not ".45 Commander" even though packaging (and the listing) says it is for a Commander. The holster itself Is marked ".45 Govt." and is 3/4" too long. I included in my replacement instructions a notation to check the holster not just the packaging, but to no avail. Unfortunate as it is a well made holster, but I am tired of going back and forth to UPS!

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. As another reviewer states "Do not order this if you want it for a commander sized 1911. It is a full government sized holster." The package does state commander, but the holster is marked govt.I ordered it because I am familiar with El Paso products and new it would be a good holster. It is well made and I will use it for my govt 1911's, but it is not what it was supposed to be.

Excellent quality and price.
I own three Milt Sparks Summer Special holsters and was looking for a fourth for my Remington Carry Commander. The prices and waiting time turned me off. I saw this similar holster and took the chance; I am glad I did. Excellent quality at 3/4 the cost of a Milt Sparks. My next holster will be another Summer Cruiser.

Right name,,Wrong holster
Good holster,if you could get the right one.They call it Commander size, but it's for the Gov't model.After two tries I gave up.Called El Paso, they do make a Commander size,but not from Amazon.TO BAD

BUY THIS FOR YOUR 5" WEAPON!!
This is a phenomenal holster, but is FOR A 5" GOVERNMENT MODEL. Despite the labeling, it is not a Commander length holster. It will fit the pistol, but is long. It does fit my 5" models fine, and I will keep it for that. The problem is with the Manufacturer, not with the retailer. I purchased mine elsewhere, and had the same problem as others here. If you need one for your 5", don't hesitate.
