I really like these coasters. I was looking for something with a simple design that wouldn't clash with other colors in my apartment. I definitely got that with these coasters. I think they combine form and function really well. They have a very cool and modern look and they actually absorb moisture! When I bought them, I was skeptical about this feature, but I must say, these coasters do a great job of absorbing condensation. I haven't had them for very long, but I have not yet noticed any water rings on the coaster surfaces after the water dries, which I know was a complaint of some reviewers.One possible negative is that, as many other reviews have said, mine also are much more jagged/rough around the edges than the ones in the product picture. I don't find this to be a problem, although I do think they look a little less "fancy" or polished with the more ragged edges. HOWEVER, If you have little kids in the house, I would definitely avoid these coasters. While the edges aren't exactly sharp, I could easily see a young child scraping or cutting a hand or finger on the rough edges if they tried to handle them.All in all, I like these coasters and I'm keeping them. I would recommend them to someone who's looking for coasters that are simple but stylish, but if you have young children, I would suggest you look at something else.

Waited for two weeks for this item to arrive broken. Gonna try and replace it. Super bummed out.

I was worried when I purchased it that a heavy cookbook might be too heavy for it...It hold a large Southern Living Cookbook with no problem..It is sturdy and very attractive. It has a nice finish on it. I am very happy with it. Much easier to read the by looking straight ahead instead of looking down for the recipe. Very pleased with this purchase.

I had been in the market for buying new coasters for awhile. I had previously owned some that I bought at pier 1. Pretty yes.. effective, not so much. So, I went on the hunt to find something that was actually porous and would absorb moisture as opposed to simply repel it. After looking at my options (slate, wood, cork etc), I settled on these. Reasonably priced, attractive to look at, heavy duty. They met all of these expectations! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because drinks do leave faint rings on the coasters, so they do not keep their original coloring. But, to me, this wasn't a big deal, and they have done a WONDERFUL job absorbing liquid. I would highly recommend!

It looks great and has held up for several years now

they were exactly what i was expecting. they look exactly like what is pictured. they are not true black but a little dark greyish tone like the picture. they are nice and heavy with some sort of felt like material on the bottom so they dont scratch the surface of the table. the felt doesnt cover the whole bottom, so you have to be careful when you set them down on the table.they hold big drinks, like a powerade 32 oz bottle (they might be a little too small for gatorade 32 oz bottle). they are a little bit thinner than i thought they would be, but they do look nice. the cups dont stick to the coaster when you pick them up. something i wouldnt be embarrassed to have out when guest come over. i would recommend this product. they were shipped fast and the packaging was up to par.

I drink from large glasses with a lot of ice involved. Left unattended, the condensation pools around the coaster, overwhelming the capacity for absorption and *soaking the felt.* This is easily managed with an attentive eye, wipe the condensation occasionally or swap out the coaster (upside-down to dry), but I had some issues the first time this caught me off-guard. A few days had passed, the condensation evaporated, and the coaster was fused to my desk. I had to pry it up with a fork and the felt was slightly damaged.I don't hold this against the manufacturer, as they're clearly labeled wine coasters and I definitely wasn't drinking wine, just a cautionary tale for consumption of a more diverse array of beverages.

Others complained about curvature in the rock but mine were A-OK. The bottom has felt, and as such, might slide, which is perhaps an advantage that rubber feet would have. I doubt this is more than a theoretical problem. The precision hewn thin granite slab is a feast for the eyes! I am a fan of rocks in general (real rocks, not psuedo plastic fake rocks) and so I am quite pleased with the aesthetics of these four coasters. A quick test has shown that a cup of icecold water can generate enough condensation to overflow the edges of this coaster defeating the point of the coaster. That having been said, they are very attractive square slate slabs that stack to 7/8 inch high and make for lovely objet d'art.

As advertised. No complaints. Would buy again.

Love these I just got them in the mail, there’s the odd flake that comes off but none has come off since opening the package, they’re heavy, I have not had the chance to use them frequently as I’m moving so they went into another box, but very nice and as described other then the color being slightly lighter
