Hello, Mr. Dodo! Hardcover – Picture Book, January 31, 2017

Martha is cuckoo about birds. She loves bird-watching and identifying each species. She greets each one with a chipper, “Hello!” Imagine her surprise when she encounters a bird she doesn’t recognize! She quickly consults her guide and discovers it is in fact a Dodo Bird. They were hunted into extinction hundreds of years ago. Well, that’s not going to happen again! They have a frolicking good time swinging, playing games, trying to fly, and eating doughnuts! One day, her secret slips out. Will this be the end of the dodo? The bold, yet simple color palette and quirky thick-penned drawings are reminiscent of mid-1900s children’s books. Martha is sure to inspire youngsters everywhere to grab a pair of binoculars and head out to the nearby woods to say, “Hello!” to the feathered friends around them.

Great storybook! Wonderful illustrations and story. He loved it!

Our 2nd grade class loved it and shared it with other classrooms! You won't be disappointed!

I could take or leave the story, but the illustrations are wonderful and well worth the purchase.

this is a fictional story about a little girl and her imaginary donut eating dodo bird. While it does touch on that the dodo is extinct there is very little information about the dodo in the story. We enjoyed the cute story about the little girl and the dodo but would caution anyone looking for dodo facts to try another book.

This book is wonderful! The subject of an extinct dodo bird is unique, and the story about a girl and her relationship with the bird is wholly satisfying.

This is such a sweet story and my grandson who is five loved it. His younger sister also listened intently.
