Distance from the plant
What should be the acceptable distance of the grow lights to the plant?

I don't use it to grow plants
I recently had a fungal infection on the front of my leg, at my ankle. I treated it with an anti-fungal cream prescribed by my doctor but it came back again. Twice. Then I remembered that guys in my platoon (in combat in Vietnam, 9th Infantry Division 1968-69) used to get ringworm (a fungal infection). How did they get rid of it? They wore flip-flops and exposed their feet to the sun as much as possible. So I got this grow light and it helped. There were still spots which would begin to spread again so I did some research online. Mint is something that inhibits the growth of fungus. I have a body lotion which is eucalyplus and spearmint, so I rubbed that on the infected area. It works. Apparently I had a really bad type of infection (NOT bacterial, so Neosporin is not helpful). It took everything I could think of to get rid of it. Sorry for the gross nature of this review, but if it helps anyone I will am happy to be of service.

Perfect simple plant light!
It's a beautiful plant light. Has 4 led heads you can position how you like. The whole pole telescopes and tightens down with plastic knobs. Make sure it's tight and the poles stay in position. Controls are simple. 3 light settings, all dimmible. Has a built in timer as well. It's pretty light weight and easy to set up.

I need this!!
I received this promptly & was able to set it up in less than 5 min. This is NOT the permanent location, as it’s in front of a window. The lights can be moved wherever you want them to be, according to your plant’s needs. The lights are colored or a soft white. I use the easy timer at night, hence, I have a great night light!!With seasonal changes, you can’t always be certain your plants are getting the right amount of light. Or, in the case of keeping poinsettias alive or a Christmas cactus, they require specific # of hrs of light , this is an inexpensive way to follow all guidelines for growing.I cannot attest to how well this works as I just started using it. I will post later on that.I would definitely buy this again & may need another for a different room!!

This grow light does not provide enough light for plants to grow.
I've added 5 photos to my review. Hopefully, future purchases can relay on these to make a more informed decision.I tested all 3 modes at full brightness to find the lux output, and these are my results:All 3 colors - barely 600 luxBlue and red - about 400 luxWarm white - about 200 lux and they say this one is similar to sunlight. The 4th photo is the distance between my meter and all light strips. The final photo is standing in the sun, which, as you can see, does well over 2k lux. What this comes down is that this product does not put off enough power to replace outdoor light. For reference, plants that need full sunlight need a minimum of 2k lux, but ideally, 6k-7k lux is what is needed for seeds and for leaves to grow. This grow light does not even produce enough lux for indirect sunlight, which is measured in between 1k-2k lux. This grow light is not sufficient and should not be relied on. You may also google what I've told you to find out for yourself. But my lux meter does not show it to be sufficient.

Sturdy tripod, bright lights and easy to use
The tripod was surprisingly sturdy and has nice adjustments. The lights are nice and bright and the timer function and remote were both intuitive to use and didn't require any learning. There are three different 'modes' of light combinations and I am not clear what they are intended for. That lack of mode explanation is really my only complaint.
