Proraso Beard Balm for Men, Nourish and Soften New Beard Growth and Short Beards

I prefer this product over Cremo Beard and Scruff even though it costs $6 more, it’s worth it. It definitely smooths beard itch when growing a new beard (so does the Cremo brand) but with a much more pleasant scent and minus the greasiness of Cremo. It dries down after a few minutes. It is not a typical ‘beard balm’ in that it provides softness to the beard but rather a ‘soother’ for new beards. If I was to re-grow my beard again, this would be the product I would reach for during those initial few weeks.

The smell of Cypress and vetiver was really well done here. People have a tendency to mix vetiver with quite a lot of fragrances many of which are very specific. This one appeals to almost everyone. I'd say it lasts for about an hour. But it's a chill scent it doesn't overwhelm it's just enhancing. As far as the balm itself, Prorasso always makes a good product and this one was no different.

I was never a fan of beard oil. It seemed to either make your beard greasy and got everywhere, or you used less and it didn't seem to hydrate. This stuff solved both problems. It hydrates wonderfully and it is greaseless, so you don't have to worry about wearing it on your clothes. it offers a little bit of hold and tangle control, enough for me. I also use it as an after shave balm for my bald head, as it seems to work well there to. The scent is spicy and woodsy. and not to strong. I hope they expand to make this scent is shaving cream, aftershave splash and balm as well.

This is the first beard lotion/balm I've ever tried. And it is very soothing to the skin under my beard. Also, the scent (wood & spice) is excellent. I can't say enough about the product. However, the glass bottle and plastic cap are exceedingly lacking. I cannot get the cap to securely tighten on the bottle. I twist it clockwise until it is tight. But, the cap backs off after I let go. When I go to pick it up again, the cap is loose! Took it on a trip with me. And fortunately I put it in a plastic zip up bag. The product leaked out into the back during the trip. Very disappointing. If you are not worried about it drying out, which I don't think it will, it is fine to sit on your bathroom vanity or medicine cabinet shelf. But, it is not travel-friendly. For this reason, I have to take away one star from a perfect 5 rating.

Excellent beard balm

This is my favorite beard product smell so good. My girlfriend always tells me how good it smells when I use it.

I think all Proraso products are great. This is no exception. It does have a very strong woody smell but I enjoy it. And it works well in the beard softening it.

The Italian company PRORASO!out of Firenze offers a full line up of shaving products. I enjoy the full rich lather that my German shaving brush creates when using their dish of shaving soap. This is the second after shave balm I’ve used. The lotion feels different reflecting the ingredients Proraso uses. Rather slippery yes, but it is easy to apply and it absorbs well. The scent is not overwhelming and is unlikely to anger anyone sharing your space. I prefer the balm because I’m aging, so to speak so I don’t need the bracing effect of an alcohol based aftershave. I couldn't really speak to how good a job it does of moisturising your face and beard. But it smells fantastic, and it certainly feels nice to apply.
