I have an electric bike with 4" wide tires. The process of removing those tires is more difficult than normal mountain bike tires. I have broken several plastic tire levers during repairs. These carbon steel levers work effortlessly. The only drawback is that they can scratch paint on. painted rims - a small price to pay for this dependable and useful tool.

I don't know about you, but popping a plastic tyre lever in half when changing a difficult tyre is unsettling and can hurt. I don't think I could ever break a steel one. My only wish is that they would be a bit longer to provide more leverage for difficult jobs.

I thought in the beginning they had a carbon coating. It's just anodized but it's steel. I like the firmness and shape design. However on those carbon wheels I'd think twice to use these.

I have had trouble in the past with lightweight folding tires not mounting properly. often crooked or out of round. So when I replaced my winter studded tires this year I went with the Schwalbe ice spiker pro, with a steel bead. I nearly destroyed my "hard plastic" tire levers trying to install the tires. So when I decided to install an electric front wheel kit I knew I would never get the tire off with a plastic lever. That's when I ordered these steel levers. Not only did they work well, the third lever made the job much easier because the steel bead was so tight. Great product!

These are the best tire levers I was able to find that were made of metal. Better than all the big name brands. Yes they are actually metal and no they shouldn't damage your alloy wheels, not sure about carbon wheels. They're very lightweight and look pretty cool in my opinion.

I really love the thin design and smooth edges all around. There is no way these will damage your rim or tube (unless you pinch it between this and the rim). They've made changing a tube so much quicker and easier. There isn't that fear of bending or damaging my rim or tools. Expect the best rim job with these bad boys.

Mayby not adapted for carbon wheels..? But for all alloy wheels is perfom extremely well. Those steel tire levers are light and very compact, fits neatly in a saddle bag.

They really are strong and so far haven't rusted or corroded like my older alloy or steel levers did.Hint: to remove stubborn wire beaded tires, make sure to set the beads into the rim's inside channel first. That will give you a few mm room to pass the tire over the rim's edge. You can hold the tire beads together with a bunch of binder clips or spring clamps at the opposite end of the wheel that you're working on so that it fits more easily in that channel and doesn't pop back open into the "crochet hooks" of those clinchers. ;-)
