After a few play throughs, I’m hooked
I’ve been searching for the best racing board game for quite some time. There are still many I haven’t gotten to try yet but when this game popped up on my radar I immediately was interested. The player control is fantastic with luck factoring in only when you want it to. Comparing it to something like Rallyman, the control is much more in the players hand in CFR. The board quality is very good. Cardboard pieces work and look great. The F1 car models are fun and generally easy to pair off if you want to do teams. But the best thing about the entire thing is the price point. This is the cheapest point of entry for a racing game I have seen and it is definitely worth a try.

takes time to learn, but it's worth it...
Excellent game. Detailed and complex, but not overly complicated. The details are necessary to add realism. This is a skill game, and the only things left to chance (like rolling a dice) would be chancy in the real situation. Don't have to be a car nut to appreciate the game. This game is very fun to play - and the more racers the merrier. you can be on the edge of your seat almost every turn. You just don't know what your opponents are going to do on each turn, and that makes it nerve racking (in a good way). The method of play makes sense once you get used to it. Big improvement over the original Speed Circuit game (which was for its time outstanding).

Want to race F1 cars? This is the game for you!
Doug Schultz did an incredible job of creating this game as it is playable with real drivers as well as adding in various different historical drivers each of them driving differently. Great game that's played at boardgaming conventions around the country, like PREZCON, WBC and more. And it has a great PBeM following plus, more recently, games are being run on STEAM using Tabletop Simulator and a free workshop supporting CFR (Championship Formula Racing). If you like to race, you'll love this game. It is a game of skill and timing and guts.

Not as pictured
The pictures show the updated 2018 edition of the game, I received the older 2017 version.

I love Speed Circuit and this has added a couple of ...
I love Speed Circuit and this has added a couple of much needed rules to that game. I'm sorry those changes had to enlarge the role luck plays in the game, but I can't see any way around that. The cars provided in the game are a bit too large for 3 of the 4 tracks provided. I used my Formula D cars until I could get a set from Shapeways and paint them up. Still haven't tried the historical drivers since I have a regular game group to play this with.

If you like Formula One racing, you’ll probably like this game.
A very good compromise between simulation and ease of play. However, rules are poorly organized and assume a previous experience with games like this, but the examples help clear this up.

Easy rules are still challenging
These current rules are a revamp and improvement over a decades old set of rules. The current rules are simple and mostly intuitive for basic racing. I have not looked into the automated driver rules at all as I don't intend to use them for my application for this as a convention game. I've tried this game system so far with kids of single digit age and AARP aged old time gamers to success.

A racing game that removes luck - Rewards Thinking
I would call this more of a simulation of racing - and it works!!. What i dislike are games where you can win because you rolled a 6 and someone rolled a 4. This is So not the case here. And it's great. Had a quick 3 car race when it arrived - Ended in a 3 way tie - the finish was Intense. If you are after a motor racing board game - grab this - you won't regret it
