Seem very durable and effective
I am a novice concerning lawn care issues, however, I do know enough to know the aerating your lawn is extremely important for having a well manicured lawn. I purchased these because a machine aerator is too expensive and I have a small Front yard. At first, these strap on's came off of my shoes which was very annoying. I learned to adjust the straps correctly and they worked great. The Lankes is approaching 3 inches, which is recommended. And it was quite easy to puncture holes quickly into the lawn after doing a thorough watering.I would not recommend this item for large lawns. I do have a very large backyard that I intend to try aerating while I push my lawnmower. However, if you are aerating much more than a half acre it may be wise to invest in a machine.

Too Little Straps, Loosens Quickly
These things are ridiculous. First, when you read the instructions, it tells you to use two straps per shoe....small problem, they only include THREE straps total (and it is listed that way in the info sheet!). On top of that, the shoes are designed to use THREE straps a piece if you look at all the strap holes on the black shoe platform. So I am supposed to do this with just one shoe at a time?!! On top of that, I gave them whirl anyways, one shoe with two straps and one with just one. Not surprisingly, the straps loosen really quickly as you shimmy your foot back and forth to get to the full depth of the spike (and yes my lawn was freshly watered to make it easier) So it is a design flaw to have straps that can loosen as opposed to staying in place where you originally tighten them.

I like this aerator a lot
I like this aerator a lot. After reading the various reviews, I was prepared for difficulty in keeping them on my small feet. As a suggestion to anyone getting this: find a way to make an ankle strap that goes around the back of the ankle and attach it to the first belt across your feet. Your heel wants to pop out of the base and doesn't want to slide easily back in. Once I got them to stay on, the process was easy.

and overall am satisfied for what I got for the price I paid
I've had this product for almost a year now, and overall am satisfied for what I got for the price I paid. This will definitely get the job done for aerating a small lawn. The only downsides I would say is the fact that you need to perfectly stomp up and down on your lawn with these, otherwise the spikes tend to bend. I was disappointed as I was hoping it would be simpler to use and something I could multi-task with doing other yard work. The straps are what I would consider lower quality and not easy to adjust.

Almost useless. The spikes bend very easily if your soil ...
Almost useless. The spikes bend very easily if your soil is hard at all, straps constantly come loose and have to readjust after every few steps. A waste if you ask me. I went and got the 3 big spike aerator tool from the hardware store instead. Much more solid and easier to work with. If you have loose soil already and don't mind the pressure of the straps on your ankles because you have to adjust them so tight they don't come loose every step, these might be for you.

Not worth it.
I aerated my lawn with this product last weekend, or should I say I aerated half of my lawn. Assembly was easy as the 2 inch spike goes through the top of the plastic sole that is held steadfast by a bolt underneath the plastic sole. At first it seems sturdy. Long story short, by the end of the aerating process, I was going around the lawn picking up the spikes that fell through the plastic sole. Not a great product by any means.

Strap Right and They'll Stay Tight
When I tried these the first time they kept on slipping off of my shoes. They would not even stay on for 30 seconds. After looking at some of the positive reviews, I noticed that I had looped the straps through the buckles incorrectly. Check the photos for how to do it correctly. It works when you strap correctly, but you may need to retighten every 100 steps or so.

Great Product
Waited until I used to rate, and works great. Heavy duty and was able to walk 1.66 acres with no problem, of course it took me 2 days. Hard clay land but after rain it was a piece of cake. GREAT PRODUCT! Metal strap closure was a plus
