Q: I own three rel t/5i units; has the shape of the cabinet changed?

The shape of the T/5i's cabinet was not changed at any point during the production run for that model. However, the current T/5x subwoofer does have a larger cabinet than the T/5i, resulting in increased internal cabinet volume. This helps the subwoofer to be more dynamic and powerful in it's output and for it to reach deeper in it's low-frequency extension.

Q: Does it has two drivers, front and downward?

Thank you for reaching out. The T/5x exclusively features a single 8" down-firing driver, and does not feature a front-firing driver.

Q: Will this still work if placed on its side?

Thank you for reaching out. The T/5x is specifically designed to have the driver firing down into the floor, and this proximity between the floor and the driver is used to provide deeper and stronger bass extension from a relatively small subwoofer. If you were to place the T/5x on it's side rather than on it's feet, then you would likely find that it does not reach as deep or play as strong as originally designed.

Q: Does this item work with 220V?

Thank you for reaching out. All T/5x subwoofers sold on our Amazon store are configured to operate at 120V.
