Good quality, love the flexibility
I live in the desert, and needed something to shade a humming bird feeder. This is perfect, and so far has nicely stood up to the heat. Because I can mount it on the feeder holder, and direct the shade at any time of the day or year, it proved to be exactly what I needed. Too bad they don't make them in more colors or patterns.

Works, but the neck is VERY stiff and prone to break the heads off.
Product works, but the spring clamps require significant pressure to open, and the flexible neck is extremely stiff. It feels like if I adjusted it by trying to grab the clips and position it how I wanted it would snap the plastic hinges off.

Broke Upon First Use!
This thing is awful! Mine broke at the one clip/cable ‘connection’ the first time I used it. I had discarded the merchandise box after I had opened it, and several days before actually trying the product. Had I kept it, I would have quickly sent this itemback for a refund.Terrible construction: One clip/cable junction is as a solid piece. The other is a cheap, two-piece connection. Why in the world they didn’t use the same seamless junction on BOTH clips is beyond me.I must admit the cable is indeed stout. It can often take a rather Herculean effort to get it adjusted properly. It’s thick and quite strong. The bottom-line is, IMHO, “Don’t waste your money on this”.

Works- but it’s cheap and not UV blocking
Worked well for what I needed it to do (blocking light in the office) and definitely a sturdy clamp. But the shade itself it thin and has weird crinkles in it. Which I assume would develop as you use it more. I don’t plan to fold it more so it’s fine for me. Definitely wouldn’t block UV really because it’s so thin- thinner than other shades that I’ve tried for babies or car.

It's exactly what I wanted, but....
First of all, this is a great product for the price. It most definitely shades my face and neck BUT it's not UV protection. My daughter plays softball, so I'm at the field all the time. Wanted an alternative to an umbrella. This is a great product for that. I really do love it. It just needs an extra layer of UV protection. As per another review, I am cautious when bending the wire between the clips. I do not hold onto the actual plastic part. The clips are STRONG though! I'm just not sure they'll withstand abuse.

Be careful! Overly aggressive manipulation will break it
A part of this product is built like a brick outhouse -- specifically the nominally-manipulable articulating arm. It arrives coiled in this cardboard packaging that serves to ensure it arrives with the clamps unbroken. Once opened, however, all bets are off. I pulled out mine, and in an effort to make the coiled arm open up (it's tough) I broke one of the two clamps attached to this arm clean off. I claim a fair share of credit here -- I applied too much force to a part of this that was clearly never intended to take it -- but the plastic mooring that was meant to attach the arm to the clamp is too brittle for this use. The only reason I'm not sending this back is that with just one detached clamp and the light shade I'm still able to use it for its intended purpose: blocking out one of my office building's "safety lamps" from permanently giving me a squint-eyed migraine. Some clarification: I bought this with the idea of attaching it atop my cubicle wall. In retrospect this was a delusionally-optimistic idea, as my cubicle walls clock in at about 3 inches, and these clamps can manage to open up to 2 inches if you're feeling generous. If the surface to which you'd attach these is 2 or less inches you might be ok; although lacking in grip width these clamps have plenty of force. The shade itself is fine -- it blocks out most light, and is an inoffensive shade of midnight blue. (If midnight blue offends you then look elsewhere.)

easy to use
i use this to attached on my lounge chairs to keep the sun off my face. It also works attached to the side of my pool for a little shady spot near the pool bench.. As you can see in the photo, I can even attach it to the side of the chair and my dog will find the shady spot. It’s very portable and easy to move around. You can take it to the beach or a ball game to add a little shad to a chair. It will clip on just about anything that is an inch to 2 inches wide and it’s not bulky to travel with. I’m very happy with it. It’s also sturdy; I leave it out year round in Florida and have had no problem with it blowing off my lounge chair in high wind and torrential rain.

I so wanted these to work!!!
I wanted to be able to clamp this thing to the side of a potted plant to afford some shade from the Texas summer sun. But 1) the clamp is very hard to open and 2) the whole is so rigid, I can't manipulate it to do what I intended it for. The idea is good and probably works for like shading a person from some sun while sitting or lounging . . but not for what I needed it for. I'm returning for that reason only.
