My remote went dead. As most would do,I checked big orange and big blue. Both very costly in comparison. Some reviews have said they experienced a slight delay after pushing the button.Not mine however. Great remote, can't beat the price and can be programed in two minutes. I bought two of them and am 100% satisfied.A definite buy.

I was looking for a replacement for my Overhead Door brand opener, but couldn't see putting out $40. After reading other reviews, I learned that this model would work. Programming was quick and painless. Works perfectly. Some people complain about the short range. As long as it works by the time I get to my driveway, I'm happy - and it does. Very pleased with this product.

The product itself is fine, but I just wonder when you purchase something that cost 24 dollars and change and they send you a different item that is a substitute and it only cost 14 and some change why don't they send you a refund for the difference? I am not sure why this is legal. You should get what you originally ordered or an explanation of why they substituted and they should credit your method of payment for the difference in cost. I don't know how they can do that without adjusting the difference in cost. Reasonable product. Design and manufacture acceptable if compromised by cost avoidance. Such cannot be held too negatively given that in terms of replacement this is only game in town. Programming is a minor rectal pain since it entails downloading a manual, printing out some pages, dragging ladder out to garage, finding programming button on ceiling unit, and standing on ladder while trying to do three handed thing with ladder, ceiling unit, and remote. All this so that the manufacturer can avoid the cost of a byte switch. On the positive side of the ledger the remote seems to only need to be programmed once - sample size of four so some limited statistical significance - even when battery needs to be changed. Not how I would design it for myself or for the troops but its better than most of the remotes that come with televisions.

Ever since I bought these remotes I have had problems. Of the 2 I bought, one has been replaced by Genie twice and the other was replaced by Genie once. That means I have been through 5 remotes in about 4 years. All have died. The vendor was no help.Genie originally declined to help/replace also, as several died after the one year guarantee. I was persistent, however, and insisted there must be a problem all were dying. The last of the 5 died recently. After over an hour on the phone Genie agreed to replace as a one time courtesy...but then charged me a $7.50 shipping fee. That's not customer service.Bottom line, when my garage door opener needs to be replaced....which I think I will do next time one of these dies....it won't be a Genie. Though the garage unit works fine, if the remotes don't work....what good is it?
