Being 5' long in length makes a difference
I was looking for a stronger performance antenna. I also own the 2' and the 3' versions of this antenna. They all either equal or out perform any antenna of equal length. They are well made and have held up well. I recommend them!

Bad experience!!!
Mine seem used!!! Case they came in are tore and broken stapled shut. the antennas cases are dirt and dust antennas appear to be used!!! Old rusty Alan Keyes. The ups boxes they came in didn't even have a dent.. feel like I have been taken advantage of

NOT WORKING AFTER 6-6.5 MONTHS! Read review comments before purchasing.
Item ordered on September 09, 2015 and received less than a week later. Installed this antenna on or about October 15, 2015 to replace an existing 102" stainless steel whip antenna. For the first several months the antenna worked just fine, but on or about April of 2016 I noticed that the reception was developing a "fade in/fade out" issue with the reception and after testing with a SWR meter showing extremely high SWR readings. I troubleshot the issue and found that the antenna developed an "Open" circuit between the base and the tune-able tip where the PVC overlaps both ends of the antenna where the spiral wire terminates onto the soldered ends of the antenna. I am unsure if the issue is with the solder connections (cold solder joint) where the spiral wire terminates at each end of the antenna or if the wire is open/broken somewhere between the two joints with no discernible damage to the PVC coating or any other part of the antenna. All I know is that whenever I test continuity between the base and the tip of the antenna my DVM shows no continuity between the two test points. I have requested a refund/replacement from the seller Amazon - Overloaded Mobile with the following reply "Overloaded Mobile has closed the return request listed below.Reason for the closure of your request: Expiration of returns periodSeller comments: Hello ********, Unfortunately this is out of my return policy and there is nothing we can get refunded from our supplier if we take this item back. If you would, please try to reach out to Wilson in regard to the matter as I believe the antenna is still under manufacturer warranty. Thank for reaching out to us, as we will pass your thoughts on to our supplier. If we can assist in any other way, please feel free to let us know. All the best to you, Overloaded Mobile"I heeded Overloaded Mobile's advise and attempted to contact Wilson directly through their web site "Contact Us" with no response from them via that medium. I decided to contact them directly via phone at the number provided on the web page (800-542-6263) with the reply from the telephone provider that the "call did not go through". Now, with no reply via messaging nor via phone call I cannot resolve my issue with either a replacement or refund for this item even though the antenna should, by my understanding, have a 1 year warranty.
