Handy !!
The remote paired quickly and worked exactly as expected. It’s compact, easy to use, and makes taking photos from a distance so much easier. Perfect for group photos, self-portraits, and reducing camera shake. Great value and a handy accessory to have!

Love it!
This remote control is awesome. It connects right away, and will start taking pictures instantly. I do a lot of nature trails, and rugged usage with my camera, and yes I take this remote control with me. 3 years later it is still working. I recommend this to a lot of my friends that take pictures through their Nikon cameras. Remote control range? The furthest I've used it away from the camera has been about 20 feet, and it works great. I have not tested it further than that.

Dead On Arrival UPDATED
Dead on arrival. The camera did not respond to the remote at all. I pointed the remote at my phone's camera and saw no flashing when pressing the button. I thought the included battery was dead, but then I tested the battery with my multimeter and it was fully charged.UPDATEThey sent a new one and it now works like a charm! I have no clue what was wrong with the first one, but this one works great! I updated my rating to 4 stars because the remote works great, but I shouldn't have had to request a replacement for what is effectively a single button and an IR LED. I use this with my Nikon 1 J1 and can use it from behind the camera! I plan to use it for capturing traditional animation to avoid camera shake.

Works for my Nikon
This Photo&Tech remote works well with my Nikon D7000. No trigger delay and easy to set up.

Dead battery and no instructions
Came with a dead battery and no instructions. The cost of a replacement battery is more than the cost of the remote shutter release.

Setting up in your camera.
The remote works great after setting up. I have a nikon 5200 and went into timer mode and set it to the icon showing remote. I work great from 14 feet away.

Nice wireless remote control
I love it and it's compatible with my Nikon D-5100, and it's very useful in terms of taking photos on a tripod, or on a flat surface, so it's a "win-win" for me to have a wireless remote control in my possession, and to carry around in my camera bag whenever I want to use it at anytime.

Leads to a lot of creative photo shopping...
I want to love it so much, but I just can't... I have a Nikon D5100, which it works well with. So I use this item, as I assume most other people do, to take pictures that have myself in them. The part where this remote falls short is that it cannot have an obstructed view to the camera. It seems weird, but you cant have this remote behind your leg, your back, or behind a tree. It just won't work if it has any obstruction between it and the camera. Which when you're taking a family portrait, you don't really want your hand to be in a weird position off to the side, obviously pushing a remote button... That being said, it works well otherwise. You can take multiple pictures, it's easy to switch to the "remote mode". I still use it, I just wish I could have it behind my sons back as I hit the button, this lead to a lot of ruined family photos this year...

tip top

Great Product
One of the main reasons I bought the Nikon brand ML-L3 remote was to get started with portraits. Having no friends threw a wrench in my plan. The wireless remote was fantastic -- it allowed me to take photos of myself without having to hazardously leap through the obstacle course that is my room and attempt to strike a pose before the timed camera went off (or, I lost track of time and snapped a photo of the puzzled expression on my face).Unfortunately, I lost my remote and, while only having one pair of eyes, my search was arduous and fruitless. I was back at square one; I was faced again with my original dilemma: make friends or dash in front of the camera and risk an out-of-focus shot.I came across the FotoTech ML-L3 Wireless Remote and I couldn't be more pleased; the product is almost identical to the original (only slightly thicker and less rounded) and functions just as well. Now, I can return to taking studio-quality, #notevenposing selfies that leave the smart phone-using hipsters envious and wanting.

Recomendable 100%
