Well worth reading and following
I am physically unable to do the exercises recommended in this book, but the author assures the reader that the diet he proposes is by far the more important aspect of approaching health. He explains the body's need for protein and fiber even if we're trying to lose weight, and I have been eating this way and experiencing the weight loss I need in order to improve my health. For those who like to keep and follow charts, the book provides plenty (what to eat Week 1, Week 2, etc.). I prefer to just take away the sense behind his recommendations and choose my foods accordingly.Worth reading if you're interested in changing your eating habits. Because of this book I am still eating food I love but am avoiding the foods that have no value, and believe I am getting stronger, even as the numbers on the scale are dropping.

Great Program
I visited my cousin last summer who now looks like he should be on the cover of Men's Health. I asked him what he had done to transform his body and he recommended this book.I have been on this program for 12 weeks now. I have always worked out by running and lifting weights and was in fairly good shape but wanted to lose a few stubborn pounds I couldn't get rid of. All the other diets I tried emphasized cutting calories. I would stay on them for a couple weeks and lose some pounds but was always hungry and new that as soon as I started eating again the weight would come back.Since I have been on this program I have never been hungry and have developed a lifelong eating plan. My waist has shrunk 2 inches, I have dropped 25 pounds and my cholesterol has dropped from 235 to 177 with my good cholesterol increasing and bad cholesterol decreasing. If you purchase the book and follow the program you will see results.

The other reviews already summed up what the book is about so I wont get into that.It's great book to buy, easy to read, easy to follow, and it all makes sense. I even bought another copy for a friend.I've always had a problem figuring out what I should eat, even though I knew what I should stay away from, this book helped me understand what to do with ease. I heard of this book from Connelly's interviews on RXMUSCLE and SuperHumanRadio, check him out there. Anyways, I feel good with this diet, so I'll be following it till I get that summertime beach body. I suggest ya'll should follow.

the workout is the best part
I generally find anecdotal evidence not to be very convincing and this book is like others of its type, too many "stories". The food lists could be more efficiently organized, and so could the exercises. But, the way he has set up the transition from starting to do weightlifting to gradually doing an hour four times a week is great.

Simple
This book outlines a very simple program to follow. If you follow the program, you will get results. Sadly, even though it is simple, it is not easy with all of todays fast, easy and unhealthy foods. Bottom Line: Great book that I keep coming back to when I start to get off course.

Tried the program before (having kids) and I must say that the results were brilliant. I'm on this again, some ten years later after kids etc. and the results are again impressive even though I'm finding it difficult to eat enough due to job, kids, family etc. Anyway nice one, Scott.

I owned this book in the past but lost it when I loaned it out. Now that I'm a little older and regained some unwanted weight, my wife and I wanted to revisit what worked really well in my late 20s.The shipper was also quick and courteous and I would certainly buy from and recommend to anyone.

Pass. Better books out there.
Hard pass on this one. Nothing revolutionary. Isn’t engaging either, so hard to want to read it. I don’t suggest.
