Better understanding of muscles tension and body usage
There are some amazing revelations in this book about how the body works and what experiences in our past are influencing our posture and body usage. I was most impressed by the idea that the resistance that we feel in our muscles to flexibility is caused when muscles unnecessary to a given stretch are interfering due to fear, expectations and habit. I was convinced this is true after reading the supporting science and doing some of the exercises. This has completely changed my approach to stretching, I was immediately able to stretch farther than ever and with surprising ease. I think the knowledge in this book could dramatically effect how people raise their children and how we teach them in school. And definitely change the way we approach our lives. It clarifies how the compulsion of ourselves and others is counter productive. I believe I have just begun to discover the benefits that I will gain from this book.

Moshe Feldenkrais , Michael Mezernich and Norman Doidge make "reaching the moon" pale beside our backyard human brain potential
I have been using Moshe Fendenkrais' Awareness Through Movement philosophy for about 8 years. I am an occupational therapist with neurodevelopment and sensory integration specialization plus 40 years working in OT. This book puts another dimension on neuroplasticity, retiring the brain and all the new research coming out with our wonderful new scan equipment etc. That this genius had this insight in the 1940's and wrote it succinctly and interestingly renews my belief in the scriptures and mankind.Thank you for making it available.

Important and useful
This is a very good rendering of the concepts and "exercises" that one can do to learn so much about what their muscles are actually doing. It is fascinating what can be improved fairly simply. Feldenkrais was full of important and very useful information that is well relayed in this book.

Feldenkrais is one of the most important minds of our time
It's a pity that few people understand this. He's well known, but not in the measure he should. This book is essential for a better understanding of his ideas. I consider it one of his best and heartly recommend it.
