worked great eventually
had an ethernet over powerline setup for my son's room but the wiring in this house is old and the speed wasn't up to anything, speedtest showed 25MB/s, no faster than using our wifi. Hooked this up to an ethernet switch in his bedroom and couldn't get a connection. Then I went through all the other devices on the switch one at a time, his xbox was fine, his desktop was fine, but the firestick ethernet adapter was uncooperative. If I plugged everything in the switch I had no connection, but if I disconnected the firestick adapter the pc connected right to the internet at about 650MB/s ... 22x faster than using powerline. I ended up keeping the powerline adapter setup in his room to run the firestick as that works better than using wifi.Easy enough to setup, I wish I'd found this back in April 2020 when we were trying to get ready for virtual schooling

Much better than relying on wifi
This is an older house and I wasn't able to run Ethernet cables to the 2 rooms with the televisions. This is a great solution to use the existing coax cable tv connections. For my application it was just plug and play. I had previously tried Ethernet over powerline and wifi both solutions struggled with fast sports like live hockey broadcasts, the ethernet over coax works a treat

Get this if you live in an apartment or complex
My apartment is rather big and there are just so many networks that cause interference that people don’t even realize slows all the networks and wifi down. I wasn’t able to really watch anything in 4K before hooking up this MoCa adapter. This adapter has the capability for 1 gig, and after I ran the speed test I was surprised how close I actually was to 1 gig speeds which was surprising because I was at about half that speed before picking this up.Important Compatibility Check:- DOES work with Verizon Fios, Spectrum, devices with an Ethernet port- Does NOT work with DirectTV, Dish Network, AT&T U-Verse, and a few others.

An Upgrade from Powerline Adapters
I had used powerline adapters for a few years and they work, however at a fraction of the speeds I was capable of receiving. Often I was at half or less of the speeds of my main router, with inconsistent connections, and noise of other network devices such as appliances, gaming consoles, the type of wall in my house would cause my speeds to drop off. I decided to give MoCA a shot after watching a few videos and couldn’t be happier. I’ve never seen download and upload speeds across my entire home like this before. Really happy so far.
