Amazon: please stop confusing people by combining reviews of multiple items!Readers: I am reviewing the HAM base.Okay then, this is really good stuff. I've used other bases (always good quality, no MSG) and this is far and away the hammiest. It is seriously hammy and salty. You just need a smidgeon. I would add that this base is quite smoky—think of it as smoked ham base. Do not be misled by people calling it "porky." It is not porky; it is hammy. And that's the bottom line: the ham flavor is dominant, not the salt flavor. That said, it's highly salty, but that's how it stays fresh in your fridge for months. Just don't season your dish until after adding your ham base and you should be fine.

I work in a restaurant and we order this all the time from our supplier. I wanted some for myself so I decided to order on amazon. This tastes nothing like what we receive at the current nor previous restaurant that I work at. The texture is even different. This is most like a fake and not worth it. I would definitely pay $20 for the real thing but not for this sludge they're trying to pass off.

The salt in this product make it unusable. The flavor is salt and a hint of chicken flavor. A total waste of my money. I put the chicken in the trash. The beef flavor is great.

I can never run out of this stuff. I use it in black-eyed peas, cabbage, greens, etc., even a little in pork and beans, to give an extra mouth-watering "wow, that's good" to our favorite dishes.

The flavor base or the soup base is so high in sodium. I made if once and threw it out because it tasted so salty. The second time, I made sure I mixed everything as directed. Both times I hoped for the best. It was so salty. I guess I can eat brine. Yuk. Lobster has a mild sweet taste. I am really disappointed. But if the owner were to correct the problem I would give it a try. I actually found this on youtube when looking for a cheaper lobster bisque recipe. If you like salt here you are.

Repeat buyer. This is an item I always keep on hand. Why buy expensive and over salted chicken broth when you can make your own in seconds and customize the flavor level.
