I bought this for my Dino loving daughter whose obsessed with “blue” from Jurassic world. It was a huge hit and kept her occupied for hrs. She was so excited to dig and excavate like a paleontologist. When she found each item her whole face lit up with excitement and determination to get the items out of the plaster. It is a little messy of course but we threw down a fabric tarp and used a shop vac for cleanup so it was easy to clean, despite the mess. Well worth the purchase m, if you have a Dino lover I’d definitely get this.

This is the second we’ve bought for him because he loved the first one, which was from Nat Geo. He loves dinosaurs and has them ALL over the house and this just elevated his interest to a new experience. According to my sister and proven by the pictures she sent us, it keeps him very focused and occupied for a long time.

I ordered this Dinosaur Dig kit for my son, who is 4. He was watched every Jurassic World movie and TV show, and he loves anything dinosaur-related. I thought it would be a good way to illustrate to him how fossils are uncovered, which is how we know about the dinosaurs that lived so long ago. But the hammer really doesn't work that well for digging out the T. Rex bones, and it's very messy. I ended up using some other tools that I had to help him with this. When we finally uncovered all of the pieces, cleaned them, and put them together; the T. Rex skeleton is fairly nice. But my son was disappointed since it's not a dinosaur he can play with. I think this kit is better for older children above 10, not children my son's age.

This was such a great gift for my boys. They enjoyed being a paleontologist for second. It did take a lot of work to scrape away all the clay stuff and pull out the bones, but we managed and they loved having the dinosaur display afterwards. Especially after all the work they put into getting the bones out.

Kids loved these digs. Us not so much. The kids were a little older so I soaked the blocks in a little water to keep the mess down but not too much to keep it a challenge for them. Even with this there was sand all around the house for weeks. The sound of hammers banging for hours on end was a deterent from doing thus more than once a year

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old niece and she loved it. Great STEM item!

Kids had similar kits (other brands) and love both digging and assembling the dinosaur skeletons. This kit was a big disappointment, especially since it was Thames and Kosmos brand, which I trusted (we have many science kits from them which we bought in Germany).Digging part was great, but assembly not so much. The tyrannosaurus is missing a piece of scull, and some of the pieces don't stay together, falling apart when we try to assemble it.I don't understand if the low quality control is because the brand has deteriorated or because they use different sourcing in the US. Will think twice before buying anything from this brand again.
