if no expiration listed, how long should this last before going bad?

Hi! Our products are stamped with the manufacture date in Julian format rather than an expiration date, and our products are good for three years after that. To locate the manufacture date, look toward the bottom of the bottle where there are 10 digits printed in black ink. The first five numbers are the batch number, and the second set of five numbers is the manufacture date. Looking at the second set of numbers, you can read the Julian Calendar code as follows: the first 3 digits correspond to the calendar day out of 365 days, and the last 2 digits correspond to the calendar year. For example: 12318 means that it was manufactured on the 123rd day of 2018 (roughly late April). From this manufacture date, our products maintain efficacy, performance and scent for 3 years when unopened. Once opened, our products stay fresh for about one year. After that, we encourage you to inspect your product to see if it still smells, feels and performs as you expect. Hope this is helpful. Is this 100% natural? Even the ones with scents?

We’re glad you asked. “Natural” is a tricky term when it comes to personal care products. There is no industry standard for what “natural” means, as opposed to “Organic” or “Non-GMO” which both require third party certification. The majority of the ingredients we use are derived from plants and minerals, which are natural. However, we do use some ingredients that are made synthetically; these appear in our preservative system to keep our products fresh. We never use ingredients made with GMOs, we never use synthetic fragrance (only pure essential oils!), and we never use phthalates or parabens. Additionally, the ratios used within the preservative system is around 1% total, being completely safe for use as instructed. how it smells. is it more coconut or more lemon?

The smell is more lemony than coconut. But, the smell is so light and it is really insignificant since it disappears quickly anyway.

I've read a number of reviews that are critical of the scent (in product released in newer bottle). What's the straight answer on the scent issue?

We haven't made any changes to the formula, but it is normal for there to be some fluctuation in the scent from batch to batch. Essential oils are different from synthetic fragrances that are made in a lab and always smell exactly the same. Essential oils come from plants and their scent can be affected by seasonal growing conditions. Factors like the amount of rainfall and sunlight, as well as soil quality, can lead to slight variations in the scent. Despite being more challenging to work with, we prefer using essential oils over synthetic fragrance because they come directly from nature and aren't laden with hidden toxic chemicals.
