Good looking headset, but too many issues to demand a $300 price point
Update 4/21/2023 - Headset mic now makes insane crackling when lowering. Replacing this headset. Lasted 3 months of heavy use (8 - 12 hours / day). Update 2/2/2023 - Dropping to 1 star. Headset constantly loses wireless connection even when sitting right next to the dongle. I bought this to be wireless, not wired to a desk. AVOID THIS HEADSET TL;DR - These look pretty, but the performance & software leaves a lot to be desired. For $200 less, you can get G935s that come with G-Hub which is wayyyyyyyyy better than "Epos Gaming Suite", they're not as good looking (IMO) but they perform way better than these. This review is as of Software version 1.11.0.1102, should future updates correct any of the issues I mentioned, I'll update my review. Looks - 5/5, A very gorgeous headset. I have the Matte Green / Gold combo. Detachable mic for public spaces make it more socially acceptable. Comfort - 4/5, Very comfy, you know you're wearing them, but by no means are they heavy like some. No digging into the top of the head or anything like that. Sticks to my head great, I've worn them to work out a couple times. Build quality - 5/5, seem sturdy, no complaints here. Sound quality 4/5 - With ANC off, it sounds great. Turn on ANC, and you hear this constant "white noise" static. Connectivity - 2/5, From time to time, the head set will get crackly for no reason after an extended period of use. When starting my day there are times where sound will not come through the head set unless I restart it once or twice. For some reason, the headset has trouble switching from PC to smartphone when making a call. Its 2023, why is this an issue? Bluetooth has been around for a while now... Lastly the dongle range is pretty bad. 10 feet and I get a lot of static and/or cutting in and out of audio. Much worse that my old G935's. Only edge they have here is that you can stream sound sources from bluetooth and the dongle at the same time (As long as its not a phone call). Software - 2/5. for $300, I expect to know exactly what my battery level is. The app simply tells you if its 80% or 40%. No exact %'s. my old G935's were able to, why is this even an issue? A whopping 4 sound presets. Movie, Esports, Music and Flat. You're able to select 2.0 or 7.1 surround effect and add reverb (why?). Otherwise still a lot to be desired from the software point of view. Battery life - 4/5, No complaints here other than what I mentioned about about the battery level indicator. Still has ~40% battery after a 10 hour work day with music playing all day. Microphone - 3/5 For some reason, after a long session I'll need to restart the headset because the mic feedback becomes 'roboty'. Incredibly annoying. Noise cancellation - 0/5, "ANC" as they call it here. Does absolutely nothing. If anything it seems to enhance the outside sound and create a "white noise" static in the background. Volume control - 2/5, annoying to say the least. Its a circle on the side of the headset that annoyingly difficult to adjust. Just make it a scroller wheel, much easier. Past headsets I've owned- -Beyerdynaic MM150 (Best Mic & Noise Cancelling) -HyperX Cloud Stinger -Logitech G935 (Best software & sound) -Logitech G933 -Corsair Void Pro RGB -Turtle Beach Ear Force XO

Great headset once you figure out how to update the drivers
Even though I paid for a *new* product, I received the headset in used condition. The manual was folded against the creases, nothing was wrapped in plastic, and there were several accessories un-banded. Regardless, I was anxious to see if the headset would work so I plugged in the USB dongle and started setting it up in Windows 11 Pro. I immediately ran into issues connecting to the EPOS Gaming Suite software, but I expected as much, based on the reviews. Plus, I own an older Sennheiser Game One headset with driver issues (Sennheiser and EPOS gaming headsets used to be the same brand). The driver issues with this headset are pretty much the same as my older headset. You can get audio to come through fine with plug and play (legacy drivers) but if you want to connect to the EPOS Gaming Suite, you’ll need their proper drivers. It’s also worth noting that the EPOS Gaming Suite software worked when I connected the included USB-A to USB-C cable to the headset… but who wants to use a cord with a wireless headset? So, I needed to get the USB dongle working or I was going to return the headset. I screwed around for a couple hours updating firmware, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers and software, until I was about ready to print the return labels. Then finally I made one simple change, and everything worked. I went to Device Manager -> Audio Inputs and Outputs -> Headset (EPOS H3PRO Dongle) -> Update Driver. Boom. Everything worked. I admit this hassle isn’t ideal for the average consumer; however, I’m glad I stuck with it and got it working. As far as the actual hardware is concerned, I'm totally satisfied. It sounds and feels better than my old headset. It has a snug fit that only slips when you tilt your head too far forward. The ear cups are firm, but cushioned, and do well to form a good seal. The volume limit could stand to be a little louder, but the clarity is very good. You aren't going to get thumping bass or anything, but frequencies are well separated and clear. The software also has an equalizer to play with. There are 2 surround modes - 2.0 does well for louder stereo music, and 7.1 is good for most games/movies. The noise cancelling is kind of strange as it only seems to cancel lows - like the sound of my voice, but it’s not bad. The wireless aspect is amazing and battery life is an absolute non-issue. I plug it in whenever I’m done using it (usually 14-hour sessions), and I’ve never had it reach less than 60% charge. You can also attach it to the USB-A to USB-C cable which is about 6 feet long if the battery dies. I haven't used Bluetooth so I can't comment on that. Overall, the hardware is great, the software isn't bad, and the driver support is lacking. If you use the USB dongle like me, just update the drivers in Windows and you should be good to go.

Excellent while it worked, too many failures
I looked far and wide for my perfect headset, and the EPOS H3Pro Hybrid wireless was the closest - 2.4Ghz dongle for lag-free windows wireless, bluetooth for mobile/mac, lightweight for portability and long sessions, decent battery life (i have a low bar, 10-12h with ANC and recharge overnight works for me), comfy earpads and headband, solid quality noise-isolating removable boom microphone, solid audio quality across the spectrum, and non-trivial ANC (though nowhere close to class-leading). +1/1 star for doing all this. What it didn't have feature-wise, that I was looking for: foldable earcups so it could fit in a headphone carry case, a decent dongle range, not randomly dropping the BT connection or garbling the audio from my macbook. Then again, there doesn't exist a pair of headphones with *all* of the above features, so i docked only a 1/2 star for this. score so far: 1/1.5 It also has some mediocre usability issues, like the power button is pretty annoying, BT pairing is not great, the volume wheel goes up/down by 10 at a time on Windows, the auto-sleep means you miss 1-2s of audio if your device was quiet for like 30 seconds. score so far: 1/2 Now let's talk about the hardware quality/durability: materially it's fine, no creaking, no breaking. But the electronics -- the power supply chip fails after about 6-7 months in a variety of ways, overnight. First, mine failed to turn on after unplugging from charging, I had to wait until the battery drained and then was recharged before it would turn on. Another time it failed to charge while plugged in, until the battery got fully drained, then plugged in. Finally, it just refused to power on no matter what. Insanely poor QC for a ~$300 product, docking 2 stars taking the price into account: 1/4 stars. Graciously, EPOS support sent me a "replacement" when these issues first started, which functioned as a spare while one was "recovering" from it's weird issues. 2/4 stars. However as I'm writing this review, both headsets are exhibiting the same issue, refusing to work after months of going back & forth between them, and it hasn't even been 2 years since I first bought it. Since it's still within the warranty window, I've asked them to do something about it, but I'm not going to rely on EPOS as my main driver again.

Best gaming headset on the market when working well, but often it's not.
Pros: - Can use wirelessly while charging - Can also use wired through the charging cable - Simultaneously connect to computer via USB dongle + phone via bluetooth - On headset volume control for wired/dongle connection (defaulting to bluetooth if neither present) - Good battery life and charge time - Detachable mic boom that you can rotate up to mute Cons - Major connectivity issues with bluetooth connection. Sometimes it's only the first time while connecting to a device, audio will come in and out for a few seconds. But now I cannot use this wirelessly with my chromebook as audio has constant crackling and drops - USB dongle connection can also be problematic, although less common - Detachable mic often has noise/connection issues. People say my voice sounds robotic until I detach and retach. It's next to unusable, so for now I've completely abandoned using the detachable mic. - Wired audio through the charging cable is wonky. Sometimes it takes several power cycles/unplugging and plugging to get it to work. - No auditory low battery warning. Just says "Recharge headset, powering off". - Volume control is wonky; spinning the wheel in one direction may result in a two steps up one step down sort of thing. If you keep spinning, you'll get to the desired volume eventually, but it's hard to use. - ANC only really useful for low frequency background hums. Sometimes I have to flick it back and forth to figure out which position is on and which is off. It's hard to recommend this headset. Hardware wise, this headset has pretty much everything you need from a headset, and I would have a hard time returning to a headset that doesn't have simultaneous connection. If you don't need Bose like ANC + sound quality, or a detachable mic/on headset mute controls, this is the best headset on Amazon WHEN THE WIRELESS CONNECTION IS STABLE. HOWEVER, wireless connectivity issues happen frequently enough that it can become unusable. 3 stars because the features are awesome but horribly buggy.

The update fixed the other issues
I used it for 2 weeks, there were no connectivity issues as seems to be the main negative for reviews in general. Going over the comparison and then later I'll go into detail on this headset. -There was a large firmware update that stated it corrected mic and a few other issues. -I also had no issues running the software with one exception, recording on the mic and playing back did not work. This has been patched recently as well I tested the h3pro against the H6Pro, Hs80, and a Virtuoso high fidelity, and the ASUS Rog delta S headsets. The order for gaming goes ASUS, EPOS (either) then Corsair. This is a great high quality fantastic sounding headset, but the mic was slightly less pleasing and the directional Queso for audio were a bit harder to understand. It did however have much better sounding music. Don't bother with corsair, they just aren't as comfortably built. +This headset barely had any negatives and those were only in comparison. The build quality is fantastic, it feels like a well made piece of gear, the ear cups are smaller than previous models. +The sound quality was phenomenal, EPOS is NOT audiophile level tech but it's as close as you will ever get in this price bracket. The sound Queso were average like from a normal headset or just a headset build for music and movies instead of games. +The mic is great quality. The flip up to mute and magnetic attachment are great qol improvements. In testing on Discord the voice options simply amplified low or high end sound which I don't care for. The mic was a bit harsher sounding than the ASUS. Battery life and charing are great. The range was some of the farthest I've tested. from a far basement corner to taking out the trash I barely got any signal loss. There wasn't none on my end and the discord was just slightly choppy. I could go around my entire house with this headset on.

Unsupported Product
When these work they work pretty well. The ANC is fine, you'll still get some louder background noise but nothing that I found unbearable. The battery life seems fine, I'd just plug them in to the usb when I was done using them so I never really tried to stretch it out though. They're on the heavier side which I like but you're milage may vary. The problems are pretty bad though. The popping and crackling with the audio seems to be getting worse and more and more often the audio will just cut out for 5-10 seconds. The volume control on the headset itself seems to be almost random. Sometimes turning it does nothing, sometimes turning it takes the volume from 40 all the way to 100 and I can't find a rhyme or reason as to why. The wireless connection though, this is where this product absolutely fails. Since I bought them less than three months ago I've had increasing issues connecting to the dongle wirelessly. At first it was every once in a while it would be difficult but after a minute or two it would figure itself out. Then the headset started connecting but the Gaming Suite (which I have a whole separate list of problems with) wouldn't recognize that it's connected but it worked fine so whatever. Now, as I'm sitting here writing this review, the Suite wont recognize the headset, the headset wont connect and I've spent the last hour troubleshooting the answer on Google with no success. I've tried updating the firmware (anyone having issues, its 1.3.5) but mine is up to date. I've made sure the headset is my default audio/recording setting. I've restarted the Gaming Suite. I've restarted my PC. I've disconnected the dongle. I've cleared the pairing history of both the headset and the dongle. None of this worked. I'll just go to EPOS website and see if I can find a solution there. Well, turns out EPOS must have stopped making this headset which is fine, whatever, but they've scrubbed everything about it from their website besides the standard "make sure it's plugged in properly" drivel all general troubleshooting guides have. Their customer service is also just an on-site email form which, I'm assuming, will get you in a back and forth with tech support doing pretty much just the troubleshooting guide but slower and over the course of many pointless emails. On top of that, the real kicker, is that the troubleshooting guide on the Gaming Suite is a DEAD LINK to the server that used to host it. The Gaming Suite hasn't been updated since 2020 and it looks like the company is just ignoring the product wholesale. Save your money, get a different, supported headset. I can't believe someone has the gall to still be selling this product for $200 USD.

My current #1 pick for PS5
I tested this personally over a weekend against the Astro A50, Bang & Olufsen Beoplay, SteelSeries 7P, and the Corsair Virtuoso XT. The EPOS came out on top for me. My goal was to find something to replace the Astro A50 gen 4 because of the cumbersome nature of hooking to a PS5 that is using a 120hz TV. Long story short you have to run an optical cable for. The TV to the base station. Even then it frequently disconnects and you constantly have to unplug and plug the usb into the base station. I’ve struggled to find anything comparable audio-wise to the Astro’s for a while, but recently purchased multiple headsets to compare for my friends and myself. And the end of a weekend of testing, without getting too technical, the EPOS won. The out of the box audio profile is comparable to the custom EQ I was using on the Astro’s and it was also the most comfortable of all the headsets mentioned. It’s extremely light and fits wonderfully. To hook up you literally just plug the very tiny USB dongle into the PS5 and turn the headset on. Bingo. Done. No custom EQ needed, sounds perfect out of the box. Texting was initially done in Warzone with the Boost High profile in the game. Subsequent testing was done in Persona 5, Cyberpunk 2077, and Gran Turismo 7. The headset sounds absolutely incredible, honestly. The Bluetooth is seamless as well. Once paired, if you’re in a game you can listen to anything from a connected device on top of the game audio. A feature I’ve been wanting for a while. Great for when browsing around between games. Also, if you receive a call you’ll hear a faint knocking sound that is very easy on the ears. Game and chat audio is muted when you answer or make a call. Lastly the ANC is ok, not amazing or anything. However, when activated, the side tone of your mic sounds absolutely incredible. It’s like hearing yourself speak without a headset on. It makes it extremely comfortable to have conversation during games etc.. hard to explain but the side tone is in a league of its own compared to the other headsets tested here. I’m closing, this was easily chosen out of the $200-$500 group as the top choice.

Too bad they don't work
Before the negatives let's talk about the pros. -Great sound quality -very comfortable -long battery life -decent mic -Nice feeling construction -amazing customer service Now to the cons. They simply don't work. I had issues with my first set disconnecting when connected to my phone via Bluetooth and to my PC with the wireless USB dongle. I checked everything and had a warranty pair sent and was able to keep my first pair. Second pair had the same issue after about a week and I let the company know. I asked if I could send them back for a refund. Epos agreed and sent me a prepaid shipping label to return them. Life got in the way and I didn't send it back for over a month as they were still in use for my work. The company then sent me a third pair and I gave them to a friend to try out. I will not be returning these and plan on using them as a wired headset where I have the least issues. To outline the actual issues, cutting out wireless connections, mic would also cut out and sound tin-ie for a lack of better description. They have also just started to turn themselves off. A restart always fixes every issue I have had but is annoying none the less. My recommendation is to buy a wired headset if you want something wired or buy a different wireless headset if you want it to actually work wirelessly.

Fine priduct but very loose fitting
Pro's: The sound is warm and the application for windows is simple. Connectivity with Dongle and Bluetooth is flawless Cons: Bluetooth connectivity to windows offers no customization to the sound in app leaving a flat experience. You can only have a single Bluetooth device bound at once so if on console, using the 2.5mm jack is the only option to have both phone and console connected and even then it is a bit buggy. Around there bottom of the ears there is a lot of noise bleed from outside as the is little to no pressure placed on my ears from the headband. If you push the headband back to just on your crown it seals much better but feels a little awkward when looking down like it is about to slide off again. The ANC is a lacklustre feature due to the noise bleed and adds nothing to immersion.
