I can honestly say I am shocked. My dad is Indian and always gets saffron from India. Since he is unable to go this year due to the virus, we had to find it elsewhere. I was skeptical since you read so many people telling you about fake saffron. So I said for the price it’s worth it if it’s real.Well was I amazed.First - the packaging is so high end I felt like I bought caviar from Russia. The box is a nice wooden box that I plan on using for jewelry.Second - the saffron comes packaged in a glass bottle with a cork!!! Okay, so this is one thing I will forever use. How awesome and so thankful. The ones from India are in some small plastic container if that. This is a thick sturdy glass bottle and the cork is tight so it will keep fresh.Third - when I opened and smelled it I was hit with the freshest smell that was sweet and had such an amazing aroma. I was in the process of testing it.Fourth - soaked 2 strands in some warm water to see the color. I was blown away. 2 strands had more bright yellow color than any of the Indian saffron we ever had. It had such a color that you’d only need that much to color a large pot of rice. Shocked!!!!!Fifth - now this is the final test to see if it’s real. Taste..... Bam!!!! The flavor is so rich and strong. This is way more powerful than any we have ever had. The flavor is stronger and I only had 2 strands in there.The bottle is filled to the very top. It is a very generous portion.So in summary, I am beyond pleased and thankful. It says it is organic on the bottom of the box. Even if it isn’t, it is still worth it. I will be saving this to purchase again in the future. I also plan on sharing this on social media for others.Thank you so much. We can now enjoy our food again. Payasam will be so delicious now!!! Thank you for making my family happy. 😊 We appreciate it so much.

This might very well be a good product, but I could not get past the smell of burnt plastic, which seems to be etched in my sinuses. There are so many conflicting comments on various sites about how saffron should smell (to ensure its authenticity), but having a severe auto-immune disease, I just can't take the chance. I tried to return it, but was informed that this item is non-returnable.

he quality of saffron is great. I did a 3 strand test in water and I was very happy with color and smell. I measured the net amount in my jewelry scale and it was 1.05 gr, a tiny bit more than 1 gr. The tin is the right size for the amount and has a nice copper color which is reusable in the kitchen. I have bought this a few times and I mostly use it in making risotto or just a hot tea. The shipping was fast, but I don’t think if the company has to do anything with shipment, it's probably Amazon handling it. Overall I recommend this product.
