Fishing Magnets 700 lb Pull Force N52 Neodymium Magnets D2.95" Perfect for Magnetic Fish Enthusiasts

After watching "Dryer Vent Brush stuck. Easy removal method By Nick's Handyman Services" on YouTube, I purchased this magnet. I pulled the rope through a ten foot 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe I had laying around and attached the magnet at the end with the provided loop and some Gorilla tape for extra security. It made a stiff rod to push into a straight dryer vent section and in a matter of a minute stuck itself to the ferrous end of my remaining rod and pulled it right back out.

It was exactly what I expected. The magnet is great, the rope is plenty long. Found a ball receiver and cell phone the first time out! Great way to spend time with the kids!

Lets start with the positives. the 50 foot rope is of very high quality. Now for the negatives. The hook is small, like less than 6 inches from point to point. The biggest problem is the claim of 700lbs. Maybe it was meant as a joke but, this magnet only picks up from the very bottom center of what appears to be a pretty good size magnet. I tried several times to pick up an 8 ounce object but when trying to swing the item to shore, it fell off. Anything heaver than 8 ounces and it wont even try to pick it up. this is soooo far from the claim of 700 lbs. they should be ashamed to put it in print. Do NOT purchase this kit. You can find the rope much cheaper at your local hardware store. The rest of it is junk.

I thought for the price point it was OK, but the advertised magnetic force was a bit overstated, and the rope you get with it could be a larger diameter so it's easier to grip.

Drop a wrench in the lake? Buy this. It even comes with a grappling hook for some reason!
