Perfect fit and so easy to install
This worked perfectly for our needs. We had a big ugly hole for the pex manifold and this worked perfectly to cover that. I do wish the cover was easier to get off to access it because you really have to use a flathead or something like that to pry the cover off, but we are still happy with it

HUGE Access Panel, looks very nice however. Good deal.
I bought this for a job I was doing in Florida, I live in Illinois but flew down there to paint a relative's condominium. There was a hole in the ceiling of the master bath's shower, because the tenant above 'our' condo had a leak in their tub/shower what have you, and plumbers needed to gain access to their plumbing in our unit. Unfortunately the plumber(s) who did the job must not be very experienced with making holes in drywall, because they made a huge rectangle that was completely off in every way, but it was around about 24" by 14".Now, because I only had so much time to paint the entire condo and I couldn't just leave this ceiling looking like this, I decided I would do an access panel in case the problem ever arises again, they have very easy access to the problem area. At first I went to the nearest Home Depot and all I could find were 14x14 or 8x8, so before finding this on amazon I was getting read to have quite a little drywall job on my hands.Thankfully I found this and ordered it, and thanks to prime it arrived in 2 days and all I had to do was straighten the mess of a hole they cut, make it slightly larger and this thing went right in.The one issue is that there's no real mounting hardware for this thing, so I went ahead and used 8 drywall anchors and stainless screws to mount it, as well as some DAP interior/exterior construction adhesive. After letting it cure for 24 hours I did not like how the screws looked so I backed them out and the adhesive held it in there by itself. I put the door in, caulked around the edges of the access panel's trim where it meets the drywall so there is NO gaps anywhere, and filled the 8 screw holes I made. I then painted the shower's ceiling and right over the access panel and it turned out pretty nice. Unfortunately I worry whether or not the adhesive will hold really well with showers being taken so we will just have to wait and see. Someone may need to put screws back into it at some point if the adhesive doesn't hold, I don't know. The other sort of downside if you can call it one is that this access panel with it's trim is HUGE. Biggest access panel I've ever seen, haha. The plumbers should have plenty of room to work if they ever need to again.I hope this helps someone. Great access panel, take your time and do it right. :)

Large Size Makes a Perfect Fit!
Being this access panel is such a large size, it is prefect for adding access to the plumbing behind a tub shower stall. Based on placement you can easily lay this out to access the floor drain, supply lines, and up to the faucet manifold with room to spare. The width is also ideal if your studs are 16" on center. This is a 2 piece design whereas the panel itself snaps into the frame. There are no springs or hinges. It's held firmly in place by rigid plastic lock tabs around all 4 sides. A small flat head screw drivers allows separation to pop the panel back out. The plastic can be painted, but the bright white matches well as is in most situations. The frame sits perfect without any bows or distortions when mounted in properly cut drywall applications. I do recommend caulking the back side of the frame or using a construction adhesive after dry fitting the frame in for proper placement. This will allow for a durable, long lasting application.

Simple, Fits, Works
This access panel for wall plumbing, electrical, and other needs is listed as Morris Products, but is in fact the Oatey brand product carried by many hardware and big box stores. Oatey #34044 is shown on the instruction sheet. The slightly off-white (light almond?) color is fine for most needs. I painted mine to have an exact match. The orange peel texture takes a quick paint roller job well. I have not tried the flush mount method, only the surface mount approach using a few dabs of construction adhesive on the backside of the frame. There are probably many options for fastening the frame to the wall. The panel clicks into the frame with enough tabs to keep it smooth with the frame, yet not so tight that you might break the tabs when opening the panel. The frame is only 1/8" thick on the face, with a nice beveled edge for looks, while extending about 3/4" into the wall opening to give it some stiffness. Overall, this is a well-engineered product.
