I've been using this for the peppers in my hydroponics system. It's easy to mix and the peppers love it!

I use this blend with my small scale Kratky hydroponics system. It's very effective at supporting plant growth. Easy to mix in a five gallon bucket, it lasts a long time. I grow mostly lettuces and tiny tomatoes and this nutrient solution under a grow light and this assures we have fresh salads all winter long in Ohio. I've noticed a lot of Kratky method growers use this brand, and I can see why.

MasterBlend 4-18-38 produces lettuce with normal growth when used in a hydroponic solution. At first I was skeptical about this formula because of the low nitrogen ratio. I prefer a balanced formulation. I tried this product because of the exhaustive list of micro nutrients and I'm happy with the results. The lack of a single micro nutrient can spell disaster for a crop. Did not use Epsom salts as recommended on the package. Thanks to manufacturer for specifying dilutions in teaspoons and grams as I don't have a gram scale. Hydroponics is an excellent way to produce salad vegetables in a small space for your family. I've been using this growing technique for thirty years and I've experience with many products. Highly recommended!

If you follow the directions and weigh the salts, one gallon of spring water has a EC of 1.4.

For better growth I noticed I had to keep increasing combined solution amount (Masterblend, Epsom Salts and Calcium, mixture A and B). I'm trying on greens, with some success. They grow very slowly and not as vigorous as planted on soil, though being pest free is an advantage. PH level was perfect though leaves of greens got smaller than expected. I guess the mixture needs to be stronger or something else is missing.
