SD Extender Cable to SD Card Extension Cord Micro SD Memory Card for SanDisk SDXC/Macbook/Kindle/Raspberry Pi/Camera/3D Printer (Black)

I have one of the original Pi-Top notebooks, which did not have the magnetic board mounting rails featured in the current models. So the Raspberry Pi that drives this notebook is held with screws from the underside. The location of the micro SD card on the underside of the Pi makes accessing it extremely difficult without the hassle of disassembling the notebook by removing the screws holding the Pi and unplugging all its cables. With this extension cable, I can now very easily access and swap out the micro SD card, to back it up, change operating systems, etc. I would have preferred a much shorter cable, but this 18" model seemed to have the best reviews of all the ones I saw here on Amazon. There is ample space to tuck the excess cable under the keyboard in the Pi-Top, so it can be located out of the way when access to the micro SD card not needed. A nice solution to an otherwise annoying problem! I did not know these extension cables existed, and did a search for them here on Amazon in hopes someone had created this very solution. Thanks!

I purchased this for use on my 3D printers. I tried it on a FlashForge Creator Pro, a QIDI Tech I, and a Formbot Trex 2+. It didn't work on any of them. Once I got the QIDI Tech I to recognize an SD card, but other than that, no go.

The microSD adapter does not click into place with a Beaglebone Black - it goes in and then does not stay put - it falls out. I am not sure if it is defective or not but it will not work for my application (which is to make the microSD slot more accessible for a 3D printer). Not happy with the product.

Have been using with a 2.5in IDE to SD adapter on an Amiga 500 with a Vampire accelerator. No issues and I get fast transfer speeds.

I bought this to use with my Zortrax 3D printer and a FlashAir WiFi card. The wifi card doesn't work in the printer's slot. With this adapter, the wifi works great, but the printer doesn't work :(

SD socket sticks a little, but it works fine.

It does quite well what I'd hoped it would do. My application is probably a bit different from most other users. I am using it on my CPAP machine to eliminate the machine's SD socket wear that happens by my continually removing and re-inserting the SD data card so I can upload the sleep data into my computer. In the previous year my repeated removal / insertion of the SD card into the CPAP's SD socket damaged the socket. Using this extension cable I only insert the cable's male end into the CPAP's socket once and then I insert / remove the SD card into / from the cable's female socket. Ergo, the CPAP's socket is only used one time and doesn't wear out (one insertion and then the cable remains inserted in the CPAP's socket indefinitely).
