I bought the Mountop Portable Water Filter Bottle for hiking to Everest, and it’s been fantastic. The bottle feels sturdy but lightweight, and the size is just right to carry enough water without being bulky. What I love most is the built-in filter straw, it makes drinking easy without having to tip the bottle. I tested it with water from streams on the mountain, and the filter worked really well. The water tasted clean and fresh, with no weird smells or aftertaste. It’s comforting to know I can safely drink from natural water sources when I’m out and about. Cleaning and maintaining the filter is simple, and it’s nice that the filter is replaceable, so I know this bottle will last a long time. The cap seals tightly and there haven’t been any leaks. Overall, this bottle is a great companion for anyone who spends time outdoors or travels to places where clean water isn’t guaranteed. It’s easy to use, effective, and worth the investment.

It’s useful once you get into the habit. It does take a bit of ducking to get it out, the taste is very plain, you can’t check the quality of the water as it is not filtered until you suck it up into the straw and the manufacturer says that the water quality measurement (ppm) wouldn’t be any different anyway. But it is a useful bottle to have and it does seem to be effective. Not sure how to know when to replace the filter, or how to order it and costs etc., but I’ll check back with the supplier and change it soon. I have used it every day for all of my drinking water, for months now, filtering my dreadful tap water (Affinity Water) through a Brita first, just to be sure. And it is better than the Brita. I wouldn’t drink unfiltered water, so this is useful until I get my main water filter repaired and great for when out and about. The compass is probably just a gimmick. It’s tiny, hidden away and probably no accurate. But the bottle is good.

I'm really disappointed in this purchase! :( I took it to go travelling (hence needing a water filter). Firstly the carribina attachment broke, so I had to buy another one to attach it to my backpack, but otherwise I thought it was OK - if not a little awkward to clean! - and was quite happy with the purchase. I've had filtered water everywhere I've been so far so haven't needed to use the filter and have only been using it in yoga halls. Yet, somehow, after only several weeks' use I noticed it had started leaking!! Upon inspection I saw it had a small crack in the base, which has been growing worse since and now it is completely unusable. As mentioned, it's *not* been dropped from a great height, nor has it been bashed about or squashed etc. I've taken really good care of it and it's been beside me in a yoga hall when used or in my go-bag. The only thing I can think of is that one day perhaps it toppled to the side (from vertical to horizontal on the floor) whilst I was doing yoga, and this somehow caused a small crack which has now grown larger? This is really poor, shoddy quality if this is the case!! If it'd fallen from 20 feet, I would blame myself... but to break so easily from very normal wear and tear? This is really disappointin! I feel like I've paid an astronomical amount for a basic water bottle and a filter which I can no longer use :( :(

Fantastic water bottle. The filter system was excellent whilst travelling around Costa Rica. Did not worry about taking water from any tap whether indoor or out. Excellent product

I bought this item in order to reduce water weight on a 5 day camping hike on the Cumbria Way mountain routes, given the temperature was 25 degrees plus for the length of the walk 75 miles, on most days I was drinking up to 10 ltrs of water, you cannot physically carry the amount needed and as there was long periods where no water was available this bottle was a life saver "Never pass a stream without filling up" the bottle fits into my backpack side pocket easily, the seal is excellent no leaks and it works well with or without the straw attached, there was no after taste after drinking and after 5 days no upset stomach after gallons of stream water, would definitely recommend this filter bottle and it certainly eliminates the need for extra weight of multiple bottles or heavy water badders.

Good little bottle, but glad I brought a spare filter though, as after only one day the one that came with the bottle stopped working. Only filled the bottle up 4 times. It states 1500L before it needs changing . . . .

I purchased this for my sister's Christmas present, because the water where she lives tastes terrible. Having grown up in a property that had its own water supply, trying to find something she could use every day that would reduce her dependence on plastic bottles, yet give her as close to spring water taste as possible has not been easy. This water bottle has ticked all the boxes. It's been in use almost constantly since she received the gift. It makes you wonder what on earth they've done to the water supply where she lives, because it never used to be that bad. If she has one complaint, she'd love to be able to squeeze water out of the bottle and into a glass... that's because she takes a lot of medication, and the flow rate isn't quite enough to make taking that number of tablets easy. With a usable rate of up to 1500 litres, it should last a fairly long time before she needs to replace the filter.
