I spent quite a bit of time outdoors year round doing conservation work and walking with my dogs. This year , the number of eye gnats exploded and I decided to finally buy a veil.This veil is actually a gunny sack approximately 15" x 20" that fits tightly over my 3" brim hat so that the brim is folded in/out at one spot or another. As the veil comes down past the hat, it clears my glasses but then it sits right against my lower face and bunches up under my nose chaffing my face. (I should mention that I am a short, small build woman hence I have a small head). When I try to adjust the net for greater comfort, I find that the gunny sack is not long enough so that I either expose my throat or the back of my neck. Because of the tight fit against my face, mosquitoes can bite through the net.I've given up wearing it over my hat and the last 2 times just put my head inside the sack and then put on my hat. That actually is not as uncomfortable as wearing it over the hat. I've worn this veil about 4 -5 times now and I'm in the process of searching for a better one. The net does work against eye gnats and the black color of the veil does help with visibility.

Worth its weight in gold. Wear head net while trimming fence line on farm and mowing. Protects against flying debris, flying insects, gnats, blades of grass and dust. Significantly reduced injuries to face and eyes. Will not mow or trim without wearing head net.
