Had this over 4 weeks now- and it does attract and kill flies. I Killed 5 flies in one sitting but you have to have some patience- the flies won't immediately go to it but over a period of 5 mins or so they get closer and closer to it on their fly-bys and then before you know it "crack!/pop/boom' they get just can't help either jumping straight in or hovering on the cage then jumping into the light. I have it at coffee table level and have never hung it up using the built in metal hook loop - you'd likley need an extension for that as the cable isn't very long. Overall it does work effectively. sometimes you may get a fly with burnt wings still inside buzzing but unable to fly anymore - in that situation your options are to wait it out which works over time or speed up the inevitable- grab the top hook loop and shake it up and down a little to make the fly float up and put it out of its misery.

With a pond right outside my bedroom window getting bitten by bugs in the summertime was very annoying but this has helped. It works, it's easy to clean, the light isn't too intrusive and the noise when it kills a bug draws a silent 'YES!' whenever i hear it.My only bugbear (pardon the pun) is the lead is only 110cm long meaning it can't be hung from a ceiling hook or indeed placed anywhere except next to a socket without an extension lead. It may be a minor gripe but surely something that's designed to be used both indoors and outdoors would have a lead that facilitates its use?

This product was used at my shop to keep the flies away. It was working effectively until less than a year the light just stopped working. We don't know how to replace the light so now would need to buy a new product

So fed up with the flies we get every year meaning the doors and windows have to stay shut and house becomes hot and stuffy! This gadget works a treat! You know something has got zapped when you hear that shock sound, the blue light attracts the insects over then once within close proximity to the light they get shocked either causing them to die within the caged area or fall to the floor. This uses minimal electricity, the current electric costs in my city this works out at about 0.01p per hour and half so win win

Absolutely rubbish doesn't attract flies.

Everytime I go on holiday I get plagued by mosquitoes so I have been looking for a fly zapper to take with me on holiday but for obvious reasons it needed to be a good size but portable..I have been testing this product for 3 days and it seems to good quality..My only issue is that it came in a box but not wrapped.I'm happy with my purchase and I would recommend.

I ordered this after reading the reviews and product description that it kills flies, unfortunately it does not, mosquitoes and moths yes but not flies which is why I ordered it, I have still given it 4 star as it does kill the other bugs however I do not hear a zap and I'm not sure if that is a good thing or bad. Maybe I have it in the wrong place but restricted because I need a socket but if anyone can advice me I would appreciate it.
