I use this for all of my yoga needs but it seriously comes through for hot yoga!!!It greatly serves its purpose

I just got my mat last night and used it for hot yoga this morning! It is true that the more you sweat the more you grip. I was worried about this mat since its like $80...but I actually love it. Also I'd recommend for hot yoga unless you sweat in normal yoga classes then it's perfect!(Also, some people are saying its slippery, it's slippery because your'e not sweating, if you don't, you can always mist the mat with some spray, I use an organic lavender mint cleaner!) The print is exactly like the images shown. I got the Black mat with the Moon phases. It is soft like suede which made me think it would never work, but class this morning proved it wrong. However, this mat is a little heavy but I can handle that... Also I was worried about a rubbery weird smell like a lot of others have and honestly I didn't smell anything, if so..MAYBE a little? anyway you can wipe it down when you get it. But all in all...it's a nice mat! P.S it does not come with a strap to carry...just putting that out there

I really loved the design of this mat and will keep it for a while still, but I was disappointed with how slippery it is when doing hot yoga.

I toyed a lot with the idea of what sort of yoga mat to get. I started using a morning yoga app less than a month ago after a lifetime of *wanting* to be a yogi, & I started taking local classes a few weeks ago, & I knew I wanted a mat of my own, but couldn't really justify spending a lot of money, as someone who was just starting my practice. I considered just getting a cheap one from Target or something, & briefly wanted to get an extra-long mat from Manduka [I'm 6'3"], but I saw the Banana Leaf mat & fell in love. The suede finishing didn't really feel like it took getting used to, since my practice is so new, & I am so happy to wake up every morning & hit my mat, & I have gotten nothing but compliments when I take it to class. As a few other reviews have mentioned, it's pretty heavy, but I don't mind; I'd rather carry it with me & be able to practice on it than leave it home. I honestly recommend this for anyone, beginner or pro.

In my opinion you're paying mostly for the design. The mat is a good quality (it's not going to start flaking and breaking anytime soon) I bought the white banana leaf print. The design is cute but it wans't a true white, it was more grey than white. I was worried the suede would be slick during my home practice as I usually don't work up a sweat like I do in Hot Yoga but it was surprisingly still grippy. I was looking forward to the extra cushion/support it said it provided as I have wrist, knee, and tailbone issues. It didn't provide much relief than my previous regular yoga mats. I've been doubling up my old mat with this new one and that seems to be helping but I wish I didn't have to. This is a good quality mat but I don't think it's quite worth the amount of money it's going for.

I am in love w/this mat. Not only is the palm print super cute, but it truly is a non-slip mat. I've bought loads of mats before, and since I do lots of hot yoga, my palms are always very sweaty and its hard to find a mat that works. Well, this mat is awesome. I never slip. It's very soft and light to carry. Also, it's machine washable which is amazing since i do a ton of hot yoga and always want to have a clean mat. Super affordable, non slippy, machine washable and cute, affordable...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! PS - i'm a picky virgo who is rarely 100% satisfied by products purchased online bc you never know, but this mat really is awesome!

Love it. Better quality than I expected and very attractive. It was between this and another Manduka after having gotten rid of all my mats after giving up yoga during quarantine. Comfortable price point when it was on sale. I was not completely sure I wanted to buy from an unknown vendor due to quality and surprise smells from other brands but that wasn’t an issue with this mat.

I know many of the reviews here say that this is the perfect mat for yogis who practice hot yoga/Bikram yoga/Original Hot Yoga; but I beg to differ. If you only sweat a tablespoon's worth of liquid per 90 minute class, then this mat will serve you just fine. It has very good grip once it's slightly wet. If you sweat more than one tablespoon as most Bikram yogis do, you'll be lying in a puddle of your own sweat by the time you hit the floor series. When class is over and you roll up the mat, you will leave behind a gigantic pool of your own body fluids if you tip the thing on its side. None of this is appealing or pretty. The mat itself is well made. The velvety texture is nice and soft. The patters are beautiful, but don't think you'll get away with not bringing a towel to practice on. Even with a towel, the mat needs to be washed with every use. If you're an everyday kind of yogi, there may be issues with drying this thing out every night depending on the humidity.
