I am a professional photographer and needed this cable while on assignment in order to interface with some older model Mac desktops. Everything performed as expected to the level my line of work demands. In all honesty, this was functionally a one-time use need, but I keep this in my gadget bag in case the demand pops up in the future. I did not put this product through rigorous physical testing, nor did I test it with any hi-tech equipment to verify the firewire speeds. All things being equal, I would buy it again if the need arose.

works just like you would expect it to. Use this on my iomega rev drive which has fw 400 and my mbp only has fw800.

Bought this as a 3rd stage in connecting Firewire recording equipment to my MacBook for use in Logic Pro.1. Thunderbolt 3 -> Thunderbolt 22. Thunderbolt 2 -> Firewire3. This Firewire cable adapterI actually didn't expect the daisy chain to work but it does!

Very reasonable price. I needed it for a one time transfer from my aging MAC Mini to a much newer one. One monitor, minimal USB and no Thunderbolt on old MAC to use, but this cable did the job and at half the cost of a Apple cable.

There's not really a lot one can say about this simple item.It looks very well made, and it does it's job.What more can one ask for?
