I smoke meats a lot, I mainly use an old smoker with Pecan wood. My wife uses a pellet grill, but this doesn't give a good wood smoke flavor. I tried this one and it was overpowering. It doesn't taste like smoked meat, it tastes like I was eating an odd exotic wood sawdust. I am burping that same flavorMy wife said it was good. She will use it until it's gone.I used it on a Deeer backstrap. It's all for my wife now, since she has no problem with the taste.I'll stick with the creole seasoning and off the shelf rubs I have had so much luck with in the past.2 stars is because my wife said it wasn't bad. But it isn't smokey flavoring at all.

Love the delicate flavor this ads to meats. All natural, low sodium and lots of flavor. This would also be good on roasted vegetables.

Decent taste but it leaves me wanting more of a pecan flavor.

This is fantastic on a ham. We double-smoked a spiral cut ham on our Louisiana pellet smoker and man was it AWESOME.
