Delicious tasting but I’m questioning if it’s actually vegan
I wanted to do something nice for my gut so I decided to order this yummy sounding Ayurvedic paste - Gutzest is an awesome name. As a person who has taken quite a lot of herbal medicine in my lifetime Ayurvedic herbal medicine is pretty much my favorite- it does a great job -and- it tastes good (unlike a lot of Chinese herbal medicine that does a great job but tastes awful.) I am not vegan so this doesn’t really matter as much to me, but ghrita, one of the first ingredients, is traditionally made from super clarified butter from animal sourced milk (aka ghee). There IS vegan ghee out there, but there is no indication what this ghee is made from and so I write this review with a word of caution to those who must or those who choose to avoid dairy products. There is a QR code on the front of the jar and I thought maybe I could learn more about the formulation there but it is a link to the Ayurvedic office where this formula is from. There is nothing at all about their formulations anywhere on their website that I can find so that wasn’t super helpful in this case. The paste itself is very gelatinous feeling in the mouth with a bit of grit to it due to all the ground herbs suspended in the ghrita. I took the two teaspoons recommended on the jar just plain but you can put it in a little hot water or spread it on toast if you want. If there are any issues with this item in the future I’ll come back and update my review.

Sweet with a spicy kick in the end.
I actually really like it. I can see myself buying it again. It's not gritty with sugar granules. It's sweet but not overly sweet and then it has like a spicy kick to it after you swallow. It's like candy that's sour at first then sweet after. Or the other way around. I have Prime delivery so the delivery was fast for me. In general, outside of prime, I wouldn't be able to answer. I tried it in fruit and veggie mix but I didn't really like it that way. It's better with tea, toast, or a spoonful by itself.

Tastes good
I am not sure as to the effect of these herbs yet, but I think this is an interesting product. I will try anything to help my gut. This actually tastes really good. I have tried it spread on toast (it has a bit of a weird, rebounding texture that isn't the easiest to spread) and used a bit mixed in a smoothie. I can get past the texture and don't really notice it while eating it as much as while trying to spread it. There are a lot of unfamiliar herbs to me in here, but all it really tasted like to me was cinnamon, which is good. I didn't experience and negative effects.. There is a fair amount of sugar, though, so I'm not sure how healthy this really is.

Sweet tasting jam
I wasn't sure how this would taste as it has so many herbs in it. I decided to try it anyways and was pleasantly surprised. It has a nice sweet taste to it and I liked how it tasted. I didn't put a ton on my bagel, as a large amount of it at once was a little too sweet. But a thin spread on my bagel was good. The jar isn't huge but I feel it goes a long ways because you don't need to put as much on as you would normally with regular jam. This should last a while for my morning toast or bagel. I like that it is good for you and not all just processed with sugar.

So many health benefits
If you aren't familiar with what chyawanprash is, do yourself a favor and look it up. There are so many health benefits to this stuff. Further, if you aren't familiar with what ayurveda or ayurvedic practices are, look them up too! Ayurveda is essentially an alternative medicine practice developed/practiced in India. It looks at treating/benefiting the whole body and mind and works really well in conjunction with yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and other herbal medicine.Regardless if you wish to follow or subscribe to all ayurvedic practices, this stuff can benefit you nonetheless. There are studies out there breaking down the individual components in typical chyawanprash and showing plenty of really helpful potential benefits. To use this stuff, just eat a heaping teaspoon of it. You could also put it in some warm water or milk to make a little "tea." You could even spread it on toast (or crackers or rice cakes or whatever) if you really wanted. It's probably best to take it on an empty stomach to get the full benefit of it. This stuff contains some ghee and sugar, both of which help your body process, digest, and absorb the ingredients.Lastly, for those talking about and wondering about taste - I'll first say the benefits of this stuff far outweigh the taste. You're not taking this for the taste - you're taking it because it has a bunch of super helpful herbs and ingredients. With that being said, it doesn't taste bad at all. I would almost describe it as a less sweet, more sour, and more sticky version of apple butter.

Taste great!
How awesome is this! I have almost given up jam. This tastes like my grandmas cinnamon rolls. The inside was full of a molasses, raisin cream stuff. My mother in law said it was like mincemeat pie. I love it on my toast in the morning. I hope it does something good for my gut and immune system. What a great way to get something good in my body.

Sweet, expensive
compared to many mass market brands (any Indian grocery store in the US should have a few), this is very expensive. The list contains a list of all the herbs in this formula (but the label uses native names and will require a bit of searching to find all names) - searching for potential allergens is not easy if you are not familiar with all the herbs native names. Second, the seal of the bottle (and the container itself) is very weak. The containers seal had already been pierced through during shipment. That is a significant safety issue. Taste like other formulations we have tried from Ayurvedic brands; slightly sweeter. this household has a habit of consuming a spoon or two and then a glass of warm milk. Less expensive options exist if you are trying out Ayurvedic formulations.

Good product
Great ingredients and good taste. Not sure why the directions to use are missing from the item. I had to go to amazon website to find them. That's the only downside.

Very tasty and healthy jam.
I love the fruity taste and healthy ingredients of this Ayurvdic jam. It's made of over 52 natural Ayurvedic Herbs and they are so tasty with a SLIGHT hint of sweetness. For my desert after dinner, I spread one small spoon over a thin oat crisp. No guilt feelings.Besides, they have chemicals, and no preservatives or atificials additives. Therefore I keep them in the fridge after I opened them for the first time.
