Not worth the money.
Not worth the money. Does ok job catches more moths then any other flying insects. It says it covers 1/4 of an acre of land. I doubt that. Comes with a 2 pin plug so you have to buy an adapter before you can use it.

Edited May 22, 2025 I am so pleased with this Dynatrap! It really is whisper quiet which makes for a relaxing atmosphere out on the patio! After one day there were more critters in there than expected! (See the photo inside the basket) Of course most are moths, but there are mosquitoes in there too!! I experimented by placing a glue board in the basket, hoping to reduce the chance of live insects flying out after opening it for emptying, but it happened anyway. Live and learn. 🤷 So far, I highly recommend the Dynatrap! It is a quality product. Worth your money! And best of all it looks like a very nice lantern. Form AND function.....The Designer in me is satisfied! 🙂 Note: Take heed on the recommended distance to place it away from gathering areas. In my photos, it was placed about 15 feet from the patio table and we became a snack for critters making their way to the trap. 🤦 So we placed it around, and 12 feet away from, the corner of the same structure in the photos. We live in a century home and we're limited with placement due to the location of the electrical outlet, (Think very long, heavy-duty extension cords 😅) but it was still effective last year. I'm very happy! 🙂

Have been using for a couple weeks by the front door and there are lots of bugs trapped so I think it’s working. Only time will tell if it helps with the mosquitoes.

Really wanted this to work so we could enjoy our back porch once again without threat of being carried off by the hoards of mosquitoes outside. First few days were promising, it did catch a handful of mosquitoes, although it seemed like slow progress, it mind blowing like some reviews have shown. Progress seemed to stall and eventually I didn’t see any new dead ones after about a week. After 11 days the motor quit running for the fan and the light bulb will no longer come on, completely dead, cannot figure out why. Was placed in a safe area above the ground, was out of the weather. Spent way too much money and ended up disappointed. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Nice starter device but inefficient for mosquitoes- for that a smaller netting size and port for CO2 would be necessary. Other product that has those features is “designed in Germany” and therefore overpriced at nearly $400 without the cylinder that has to be purchased separately. Unrealized opportunity in this market, but maybe we have to live with bugs since CO2 is disapproved and beer is now saturated with nitrogen?

A friend recommended these. We bought one of the 1/2 acres versions, and liked it so much, we bought a second 1/2 acre and this 1/4 acre. They do capture a lot of moths and hopefully mosquitoes, and it is easy to empty the capture tray on the 1/2 acre. It is annoying to empty THIS 1/4 ACRE version. Just note that the 1/2 acre version has a much more robust cord that the 1/4 acre. I wouldn't buy the 1/4 acre again for anything, it's power supply is cheaply made and you have to use a power adapter for it, so you can't really use it out of door, or at least only on your covered patio.
