These earbuds have changed my life! They are so comfortable, I can wear them all day - whether in the office, out for a run, shopping, on the bus or train, or even taking a hike. They’ve enabled me to enjoy days of books and podcasts, as well as keeping in touch with friends. Easy to use, perfectly designed to fit small ears. Touch control works well and sound and mic quality is great. Noise cancellation works well too.

I have owned Apple AirPod Pros and Samsung Galaxy Bud Pros, both of which have some great features but the Linkbuds are just so much better for what I need them for. I am a heavy user, listening for several hours at night to help me get to sleep. These fit perfectly inside my ear and once they’re in, they stay in. Previously I’d found my AirPods were comfortable for side sleeping but they would fall out easily and get tangled in the bedding or carried off somewhere by our puppy. With expensive headphones that isn’t something I want to risk happening regularly and these have certainly fixed that problem. The Galaxy Buds would also fall out and sometimes the tips would come off and get stuck in my ear. They were also very uncomfortable for side sleeping. After owning 2 premium headphones I was reluctant to part with more money but it’s been the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The sound quality is excellent, the noise cancellation is fantastic (in my opinion it exceeds that of both the AirPod Pros and the Galaxy Buds Pros), the battery life is a huge step up, the case charges very quickly and even with the Linkbuds inside it’s incredibly light. I’ve found that as the Linkbuds are so small I can also use them under my ear defenders when I’m using any of the loud machinery we use for maintaining our fields. Having Alexa or Google Assitant built in has been massively useful too. I like having my notifications read to me when I can’t get to my phone. The companion app is brilliant too. Honestly, I love these things so much. Other members of my household have also stated that they will switch to them when their current headphones/earbuds need replacing as they are so feature rich. Yes, they’re not the top of the range Sony earbuds but I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything as these are 100% perfect for my needs.

Pros: I like these a lot the sound quality is immense and I even like the fact you can EQ these somewhat in the app. They last a fair amount of time and charge very quickly. They’re quite comfortable once you get used to how they position in the ear. The noise cancellation is perfect for what I need. Cons: I have a few problems with these. The touch sensitivity is TOO sensitive. When I put them away in the case even without touching the sides of the ear bud it will pause and play my music or keep changing to ambient mode. If I wear an over ear hat it will sometimes do the same. If I lay down with these it will keep doing the same also. So much so that I’ve now disabled the touch controls as it was more annoying than useful. Sometimes when I put the ear buds back into the case to charge one of the ear buds doesn’t actually start charging. I have no idea why this occurs. I will still have charge in the case but only one will charge to 100%. It’s fairly annoying because I can only find out once I go to use them again. The ambient mode isn’t the best. It sounds like you’re listening to yourself and other people through a microphone and there’s a lot of static background noise. Also it’s very hard to hear what people are saying even with ambient mode on. Overall: A few annoying problems but overall the pros out weigh the cons for me. I really enjoying listening to music with these.

As you would expect from Sony these earbuds sound fantastic, especially when you consider how tiny they are. A very punchy, but not overly bassy sound with nice mids and highs. Out of the box they may not be to everyone's liking so downloading the Sony Connect app is a must as, amongst many other things, you can tailor the sound to suit your taste, in addition to enabling useful features like "speak to chat" which automatically switches to ambient mode so you can hear the person you're talking too and switches back to Noise Cancelling when you stop talking or tap the right bud once. Switching from AAC to LDAC improves the audio quality further, BUT doing so reduces the battery life considerably. In AAC with NC enabled you get around 6.5 hours - that nosedives to a not too impressive 3.5 hours when you switch to LDAC. Having said that I'm pushed to really notice the difference between AAC and LDAC because, being born in the mid 60's, my ears are shot to pieces, especially at the higher frequency range, so AAC is perfectly adequate for me and I suspect most others too. There's also another "but" (sorry Sony)... When you charge the earbuds in the provided case and close the lid, the charging indicator comes on for about 3 seconds (either orange or green, depending how much battery you have left in the charging case) but then goes off again. So, in short, you have absolutely no idea as to the status of the charging. Are they at 50%? Maybe they're at 75%?... Nobody knows (not even Sony) until you take them out of the charging case, pop them back in your ears and have a look on the Sony Connect app. Overall, for this pricepoint, these are truly wonderful earbuds and you'd be hard pushed to do better with your money elsewhere in terms of build and sound quality. It's just a shame they're somewhat let down with underwhelming battery life when using LDAC, and a puzzling / not very well thought out charge indication system... 5 stars, minus 1 for the niggles. EDIT: Only had them a couple of days and the right earbud started emitting a high-pitched feedback sound. Investigated the issue and, unfortunately, it's extremely common. Sony's support website actually says this is not a fault and can be caused by moisture, but I was wearing them indoors whilst doing absolutely nothing - so where the moisture came from I have no idea. Anyway, I followed their suggestions to fix it - initialize and reset the earbuds - but the problem persisted. I put them back in the case and came back to them a few hours later and everything was fine again. But, after about an hour the feedback sound came back again. This, clearly, is an issue and it's an issue on a very large scale affecting a lot of units if the online forums and Reddit are anything to go by. Sony, it seems, have shunned any responsibility by claiming it's normal behaviour, which is ludicrous, so my best advice - as good as these buds are when they work - is to avoid them and go for something else. A big shame but it's just not worth the risk. Rating down from 4 to 1 star.

Firstly, I loved these earbuds - great sound, much lighter than the xm4's and actually stayed in my ears. However, within a month of buying them the left earbud emitted a deafening screech a few times with either ANC or Ambient Sound. Soon after the right earbud started to produce "wind noise" (again with ANC or Ambient enabled), which randomly starts and CANNOT be solved by resetting the buds or defaulting them both entirely. Wind noise will stop just as randomly as it starts hours later and isn't present if ANC/Ambient is off. Multiple reviews cite this same issue, as do the extensive reddit posts on /r/sonyheadphones. It is unfortunate, as they are overall great, but if they can't be used for their intended purpose (ANC) then they are not fit for purpose. If they fix the "wind noise" issue/firmware I would gladly buy them again.

k, devo assolutamente condividere la mia esperienza con le cuffie Sony LinkBuds S. Iniziamo col dire che queste cuffie sono semplicemente perfette. La qualità audio è eccellente, il comfort è fantastico e hanno anche una durata della batteria impressionante. Ma, c'è un grande ma, l'applicazione che le accompagna è davvero pessima! Cominciamo con gli aspetti positivi. La qualità audio di queste cuffie è semplicemente incredibile. I bassi sono potenti e profondi, gli alti sono nitidi e ben bilanciati. Ho ascoltato vari generi musicali e ogni volta sono rimasto colpito dalla qualità del suono.Inoltre, il comfort è eccezionale. Le cuffie si adattano perfettamente all'orecchio e possono essere indossate per ore senza causare fastidio. La loro leggerezza e il design ergonomico le rendono perfette per sessioni di ascolto prolungate o per indossarle durante l'allenamento.Tuttavia, tutto ciò viene rovinato dall'applicazione che accompagna le cuffie. È semplicemente disastrosa! L'applicazione è mal tradotta in italiano, con errori grammaticali ovunque. È evidente che non è stata data la giusta attenzione alla localizzazione per gli utenti italiani. Inoltre, l'applicazione è anche molto confusionaria da navigare. Le impostazioni non sono intuitive e può essere difficile trovare le funzioni desiderate.In conclusione, le cuffie Sony LinkBuds S sono davvero fantastiche, ma l'applicazione che le accompagna è un vero e proprio flop. Spero davvero che Sony faccia qualche aggiornamento per migliorare l'esperienza dell'applicazione, perché altrimenti è un peccato vedere un prodotto così solido essere compromesso da un'applicazione così scadente.

Io l'ho prese nel prime day di Amazon usate con un ulteriore sconto del 20% a 39 euro e secondo me sono eccezionali, potrebbe sembrare che non abbiano molta potenza, ma connettendole con l'applicazione Sound Connect, l'equalizzatore lo potete sparare anche al massimo (certo sempre con criterio) e non stonano/gracchiano mai e si sentiranno davvero forte ed hanno anche il codec LDAC. La batteria dura quelle 5/6 ore, se si guardano i video con delle pause durano pure 8 ore (più altre 2 ricariche con la custodia). In conclusione per me a 39 euro sono eccezionali, sicuramente valgono di più, ma secondo me in generale per delle cuffie in ear 39 euro secondo me sono anche troppi.

El siguiente análisis está escrito desde la perspectiva de un usuario que sufre de tinnitus (acúfenos, pitidos crónicos en los oídos) e hiperacusia (el sonido se oye mas fuerte de lo que realmente es, y resulta molesto o incluso doloroso a volumenes mas bajos de lo normal). Por estas dos condiciones, tengo amplia experiencia con los aspectos tecnicos de los dispositivos de sonido y sus ajustes, y algunas exigencias particulares. Tambien se utilizará el termino IEM (In-ear Monitor) para referirse a este tipo de auricular pequeño que se introduce dentro del canal auditivo. Algunas marcas se refieren a ellos como "earbuds", aunque en realidad los "earbuds" son los auriculares que van colocados en el oído pero que no llegan a entrar en el canal auditivo (como los Airpods estandar, no Pro). Para empezar, el aspecto más importante: La comodidad. Donde unos Airpods Pro 2, recién salidos en septiembre de 2022 por 299 euros, me hacen daño en apenas 15 minutos, y los Galaxy Buds 2 Pro pueden provocar inflamación e infecciones de oído debido a su contenido en niquel (he tenido que devolver un par por esto mismo), los LinkBuds S los he llevado puestos más de 10h al dia varios dias seguidos y no he notado ningún tipo de incomodidad. Es casi como no llevar nada. Se adaptan perfectamente al oído, entran directos al canal auditivo en un ángulo perfecto y traen 4 tamaños diferentes de sellos de silicona. Los he probado todos y, en mi caso, los más cómodos han sido los que venían por defecto, tamaño "M". La propia aplicación de Sony, "Headphones Connect", disponible tanto en Android (donde la he probado yo) como en iOS, tiene una funcionalidad con la cual ella misma te indica si los sellos de silicona que llevas puestos estan haciendo un buen sello hermetico, con lo que no hay ningun margen de duda a la hora de probarselos todos. Sobre el sonido, tengo dos juegos de auriculares Sony de 250 euros cada uno (en el momento en que se lanzaron): Los Sony MDR XB950N1 de 2017, y los Sony WH-1000XM4 de 2020. Los XM4 se escuchan perfectos, como unos monitores de audio profesionales, y los XB950N1 no andan muy lejos una vez calibrados. Ambos son auriculares grandes, over-ear, y se escuchan increíbles, con una calibración neutral y un sonido preciso y fiel al mastering original del sonido. Pues bien, los Sony LinkBuds S, con un tamaño microscópico y un precio ridículo de apenas 150 euros, una vez configurados con la aplicación "Headphones Connect" activando el preset de ecualizador "Treble Boost", se escuchan prácticamente idénticos a los anteriores. A los Airpods Pro 2 y los Galaxy Buds 2 Pro los dejan a la altura del betún no sólo en ergonomía sino también en calidad de audio. En todos los cascos Sony, las configuraciones (incluidos los presets y ajustes de audio, y también los cambios en los controles táctiles) se guardan en los propios cascos y se aplican a todos los dispositivos incluidos los que no tienen aplicación. Así que una vez los configuréis en la aplicación de Android/iOS, se oirán perfectamente donde sea que los conectéis: El ordenador, la consola, la Smart TV... Para mi, esta es la feature estrella numero uno de Sony. No puedo vivir sin un ecualizador por hardware. Es importante para cualquiera para calibrar el sonido al gusto de cada uno, pero en mi caso, el tinnitus se agrava con la exposición intensa a ciertas frecuencias y ecualizar se convierte en una necesidad médica. Ya que hemos hablado de la feature estrella numero uno, vamos a hablar de la numero dos: El medidor de SPL (sound pressure level, es decir, el nivel de volumen en decibelios) que viene incorporado y perfectamente calibrado. Usando la aplicación de Sony y activando el tracking de Activity, podemos ver, en la parte inferior de la pestaña "Status" de la aplicación, el nivel exacto de decibelios al que estamos reproduciendo sonido en este momento. Es una funcionalidad util para cualquiera, ya que permite identificar de manera exacta si estamos escuchando musica a un volumen saludable para nuestros oídos. Sin embargo, yo sufro de hiperacusia y por lo tanto me resulta mucho mas dificil identificar sonidos que son peligrosos para mi. Sin un medidor SPL, no puedo fiarme de mis oidos y acabo escuchando musica a niveles mucho mas bajos de lo necesario por si acaso, quitandole fidelidad al sonido. Gracias al medidor SPL de los LinkBuds, puedo escuchar musica a niveles que respetan las propiedades acusticas de la musica con la total tranquilidad de no estar dañando mis oídos. Además de esto, el micrófono incorporado tiene una calidad sublime. Para grabar videos profesionales no vale, no son micrófonos de estudio. Pero para hacer llamadas del trabajo y que se te oiga perfectamente claro, tienen calidad de sobra. Si estás entre estos y los WF-1000XM4 (la versión IEM de los WH-1000XM4), necesitas algo cómodo para llevar todo el día y estás preocupado por la calidad del sonido... No lo dudes ni un momento, los LinkBuds S tienen una calidad de audio prácticamente perfecta. Ahora a las pegas, pocas y la mayoría leves: La batería de los IEM en sí es de unas 6h con la cancelación de ruido activada y otras 14h mas (20 en total) si contamos la batería del estuche. Están dentro de lo normal, de hecho es la misma batería que los Airpods Pro 2, pero los auriculares over-ear (como los WH-1000XM4 de Sony) tienen 30h de bateria sin necesidad de parar a las 6h para cargarlos con el estuche. Algo a tener en cuenta si queremos este tipo de auricular IEM. La cancelación de ruido activa (ANC), siendo muy buena y dentro de la media, no alcanza las cotas tope de gama de los WF-1000XM4 o auriculares over-ear como los WH-1000XM4. Sin embargo, tranquilamente rinden un 70-80% de los topes de gama. - Para hacer ejercicio, se agarran a los oídos bastante bien y a mí la verdad es que no se me han salido nunca, ni siquiera con movimientos bruscos. Sin embargo, al no ir agarrados a las orejas, es posible que haciendo movimientos extremadamente bruscos puedan acabar saliéndose. Para la mayoría de casos, no me preocuparía, pero es algo a tener en cuenta. -Este contra ya no es aplicable: Ver actualizaciones al final de la reseña- Aquí viene la pega que realmente es molesta: Las pocas opciones con respecto a los controles. A diferencia de los Galaxy Buds (todos los modelos) o los Airpods Pro 2 (solo los de segunda generación), no hay ninguna manera de acceder a todas las funcionalidades del dispositivo. Se debe elegir dos de las siguientes tres opciones, una por auricular: Control de cancelación de ruido, control de volumen o control de reproducción. Es un fallo muy tonto que aleja a estos cascos de la perfección total. Para quien tenga un Smartwatch y pueda controlar el play/pause desde el reloj, recomiendo dejar un auricular para el volumen y el otro para el ANC. Con esto tendremos a mano todos los controles de manera relativamente comoda. Alternativamente, podemos dejar un auricular para el volumen, otro para el ANC, y activar la funcionalidad de play/pause automatico cuando nos quitamos o ponemos un auricular. No es perfecto, pero con esto tambien tenemos un acceso relativamente conveniente a todas las funcionalidades. En resumen: Los recomiendo encarecidamente. Una calidad espectacular, incluso sin entrar a evaluar la calidad-precio. Evaluándola, son unos auriculares de escándalo. ACTUALIZACIÓN 27/01/2023: Los mejores IEMs del mercado, ahora incluso mejores. Tras una actualización de los LinkBuds S (aplicada via la aplicación Sony Headphones Connect), Sony ha añadido la funcionalidad "Bluetooth Multipoint" que permite a los cascos mantener dos conexiones Bluetooth simultaneas. Aunque solo una de estas puede estar reproduciendo audio a la vez (desde la app podemos ver ambas conexiones y seleccionar desde la cual queremos escuchar audio), esto permite a los LinkBuds S enviar telemetría a la app con una de las conexiones, mientras con la otra reproducimos audio desde otro dispositivo diferente al móvil. Esto nos permite usar el medidor SPL de la app móvil para medir los decibelios a los que estamos reproduciendo sonido desde cualquier otro dispositivo. Es decir, podemos usar la que yo considero que es la funcionalidad estrella de esta maravilla de aparato independientemente de cual sea el dispositivo reproductor: Un PC, un televisor mientras jugamos a la consola... Además, esto permite registrar las estadísticas de tiempo de reproducción y niveles SPL desde cualquier dispositivo, no solo el móvil, lo que nos permite mantener estadísticas totales fiables sobre nuestra salud auditiva, y permite a la aplicación enviarnos alertas cuando nos acercamos a nuestro límite saludable de exposición sonora haciéndolos fiables de verdad, ya que pueden figurar todos nuestros datos de reproducción de audio. Dado el hecho de que nos encontramos ante los IEMs con mejor calidad de sonido, mayor flexibilidad de ecualización, cancelación de ruido en el top 3 de IEMs, mayor comodidad y, añadido a todo esto, un precio de escándalo, Sony no tenía ninguna necesidad de mejorar todavía más ni la calidad ni la relación calidad-precio. Pero si antes nos encontrábamos ante un dispositivo de 10, ahora es de 12. ACTUALIZACIÓN 23/11/2023: Con el firmware mas reciente (LinkBuds S versión 4.0.0), Sony ha arreglado completamente la pega de los controles, eliminando con ello el único contra que realmente era molesto. Ahora podemos bajar el volumen pulsando 4 veces sobre el auricular izquierdo, o aumentarlo haciendo lo mismo sobre el derecho. Este es un control independiente de las otras opciones, lo que nos permite usar un auricular para controlar la cancelación de ruido, el otro para el control de reproducción (play, pause, siguiente o anterior canción) y el gesto de cuatro toques para el volumen, todo ello simultáneamente. Mirad que ya me gustaban estos IEMs. Mis favoritos desde que los compré, los he usado cada dia sin excepción. Ahora son sin lugar a dudas lo mejor de todo este segmento. Incluso mejores que topes de gama mas recientes como los Sony WF-1000XM5.
